Eastern Conference Predictions
Lucky week 13, who will have the luck this week? The Chips were able to take the Game of the Week match-up against the SEC All Stars last week. We are getting closer and closer and that door to the playoffs is closing fast. Teams on the edge will have to win out for a chance for the trophy. This is when things start to get exciting! Let's get to it.
Bonita Beef Supreme (7-5) at Ten Yard Fight! (12-0)
The Bonita Beef Supreme are coming to Nintendo Entertainment Stadium, I hope they brought some yummy tacos because the Fight are definitely a hungry bunch. The BBS have had three solid performances and are riding high. They are currently in seventh spot and are looking for a playoff birth. I wish them the best as they are definitely a fun team to watch.
*Prediction Excluded
Ottawa Outbreak (11-1) at Tampa Bay Krakens (10-2)
Ottawa brings it every game. They surprised myself, and the Blaze I imagine, by beating them. Now they bring the noise into Tampa Bay. TB is another solid franchise but I just don't see anyone else beating Ottawa during the regular season. It should be close though. Best of luck to both teams. This is definitely the Game of the Week!
Outbreak 35 - Krakens 31
NJ Hitmen (5-7) at New Jersey Blaze (10-2)
Battle for New Jersey! The Hitmen performed pretty well against the Fight last week. They were able to pick off our QB three times, which is no easy feat. The Blaze are to solid to give the Hitmen any chance at a victory but I think they will score some. It wont be a huge blowout or anything but The Blaze is my pick for King of New Jersey.
Hitmen 17 - Blaze 42
Philadelphia Pigeons (9-3) at Saint Paul Vulcans (6-6)
The Pigeons and the Vulcans. The Merrian Webster Dictionary lists Vulcans as "the Roman god of fire and metalworking". Normally I would say that such a creature would have no problem dealing with an influx of small winged birds but these are no ordinary Pigeons. These Pigeons breathe fire and have a nasty disposition. The Vulcans have had a rough go of it after their successes last year. I don't think they will be able to handle Philly this week.
Pigeons 31 - Vulcans 20
Seward City Cats (0-12) at Buffalo Chips (8-4)
The Chips are looking good, after winning three of their last four. They are creating quite a buzz amongst the top tier of teams in the conference. I dont think anyone should overlook them at this point. The poor cats will be liking their wounds all year. Chips will be padding their stats this week.
Cats 6 - Chips 97
Atlanta SEC All Stars (7-5) at New Orleans Night Trippers (3-9)
SEC is reeling after the loss last week to the Buffalo Chips. The Night Trippers have lost three of their last four games. I think that trend will continue as SEC will want to get back on the horse and start to win games again.
SEC 49 - Trippers 13
FC Hezbollah (3-9) at Texas Wrecking Crew (3-9)
Both teams are near the bottom of the conference at this point. The TWC has more talent and I think by now you all know how I feel about Hezbollah. I have to stick with my strategy of betting against them no matter what.
FC 6 - TWC 17
Three and Out (1-11) at Sheffield Sabres (1-11)
Battle of the 1-11 teams. This is the anti-game of the week. I wonder if this will be a game where both teams score like crazy because neither can stop anyone or that nobody can score because they are both inept. I will be going with the later.
Out 6 - Sabres 3
Best of luck to everyone in this week's games.
Thanks,
Chris
