The Dire Wolves played last night to a sold out crowd in their first game since owner Skyrek took the reins. The entire team had been shaken to its foundation like he said it would be and there were almost no familar faces on the team at all at kickoff.

"We have done the drastic thing and rebuilt this team from the ground up. From the lowest on the depth chart all the way up through management," a big smile was seen as he continued, "and as you can tell we have revitalized a team all thought was soon to be lost forever."

The fans have been buying tickets quickly and have already bought out the first five home games for the team. Apparently they like what they are seeing.

When asked what he thought of his youngest players performance the owner grinned while he let us know he had a far bigger impact in the game than even he would have originally thought.

Was he concerned with the fact that out of all the points only one touchdown was scored, "of course not. In fact being a mostly young organization I know things will get even better and knowing the Joao Pek is ready to put them in as long as we can get close enough is just a bonus."

Continuing, "Shutdown Shipman," the teams starting quarterback as this season started, "showed great poise on the field. The line held like a wall and when things did break down he continued to take his time to try completing the pass."

I can only assume he was referring to the play where the Mammoth's linebacker Johnny Golf was closing in for a sack and yet suprisingly the young quarterback put it over the heads of the defenders and to the open tight end Hans Hands.

In closing our interview Skyrek said, "I would like to thank the Albany Mammoths for the great first game. There were definitely moments where if things had gone a little differently they may have taken the win. I am looking forward to playing against the rest of the BBB #9 League in the coming season."
