With high strength and tactics set to wrap up, can tackling be ignored for Dline?

Good to hear the feedback. I want to build my NT with extremely high strength, but the intense training combinations aren't great (only viable combination is stregth/tackling).
I'm strongly considering bypassing Tackling and just train Strength alone on normal.
Bad idea?

In the D-Leagues, my DT made 45 tackles and missed 12. After I got TACKLING to, I think 30, he's never missed a tackle again. I certainly do not think the Attribute should be forgotten [it needs a minimum], but there are worse things to ignore.

You'll miss some tackles early on but they'll disappear after a while. My tackling isn't even 30 and I haven't missed any tackles this season.

Yeah, same for me. Certainly, I don't want to miss any tackles if I can, but missing them on the secondary/LBs is a lot worse than missing them on the D-line. I'd rather build a DE/DT to get a solid push and get to the point of attack faster, then worry about the tackling once the missed tackles start to come, if they do.
Just my way of looking at it.

Interestingly, I do know of at least one DT with very high tackling..over 60. I would normally think this is a waste of points, but the guy is a very solid performer in a competitive league...10+ sacks and lots of TFLs. He is around level 28-29.

when it was at 35, i was missing alot of tackles while I was engaged by blockers...so I upped it to 48, and havnt missed a tackle yet.

I've never put anything in Tackling for any of my D-line players and I've never had issues. I'll train it every now and then, but the level up covers most of it
