Well, at level 4, the main thing is that you haven't screwed him up yet.

It was a mistake to burn points on SAs this early, especially going 1111. But it's a minor setback.

Strength -- Points low could train it for a bit
Agility -- Points as above
Tackling: Points

Pick one then soft cap it 48 - 49 then move to next one

Vis and Stamina train it

NO SAs till at least lvl 16

Has anybody explained to you how the soft cap works? Once you get an attribute to around 48, it takes 2 skill points to raise it by 1, instead of 1. Also, every time you level, your major and minor attributes are each increased slightly for "free". Some positions (ie center) have few major and minor attributes so they "autolevel" bonus is significant. For other positions (like LB), there are many major/minors so the "autolevel" bonus is less significant, but by no means should you ignore it.

If your autolevel bonus for speed was .5, for instance, and you had trained speed to 50 (not including equipment), you would go up to 50.5 which is the equivalent of one free skill points (two free SP would give you +1 or 51). If your speed was only 46 and you leveled, you would go to 46.5 which is the equivalent of 1/2 of a free SP (1 free SP would give you +1 or 47).

Thus you generally want to get up as many of your "major" skills up to the "soft cap" asap, and the most important ones first.

Also it's important to have enough stamina to get enough plays to get you to max exp per game. One option at lower levels is to put your eq into stamina, train it up a little bit, and then later when you can afford to train stamina up more fully, sell off your low level eq and buy something better.

You could train some combination of speed/agility or speed/stamina, then switch to agility/stamina later.

At about 60.5 it takes 3 SP to increase an attribute by one, up from 2.

I hope this helps some.
