Either speed or catching.
Strength is an option too but...

And put your equipment in stamina.

In the Dleagues, PT will be dependant mainly on 3 things.
1) Special teams- If you're on this, expect to get only 20 plays a game
2) The number of players in your position
3) Level of players in your position.

And since the other TEs on your team on special teams, you should take advantage of that.

Level 1 equipment-Stamina.
When you get to level 8, buy for speed, but still wear the stamina equipment until you get of the Dleagues.

Again, going on my sample size of one, there's no need to cap catching. I have 44 catching, 50 catches, 0 drops.

I'd go agility. Will help with receiving and blocking.

i just started a new receiving TE, and do agree that agility is the most important thing.
but, soft capping it early really does not do a ton since you only get 1/6 of a point per level via levelling, while catching is .5.
so you do get a lot of value on catching, but very little for agility.

say you softcap agility at lv5, at lvl 23, you would have gained only an additional 3 points for this (compared to never softcapping). while doing catching would have gotten you 9 points.

and those drops does not mean you don't need anymore catching. if you had higher catching you likely would have caught a few more balls that were a little bit errant, or deflected.

i definitely am up for discussion on this as i need to decide soon which i will cap.

i also would not put any equipment onto catching as you do not need it higher than this. i think a receiving first TE is actually one of the few positions where you can spread around equipment as you really don't need to softcap anything else, so having it all on one thing is not as important.
but i would have most, if not all, on agility. maybe later on get some on speed or str.

Catching isn't only related to not dropping balls.
Higher catching also helps with decreasing the speed lost when trying to catch a ball.
My little brother softcapped catching, but he still needs some more speed before anything can be said. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=852047

Great point.
You see this in a lot of HBs that are so non-fluid in catching checkdowns when they have 16 catching, but at 24 they catch it easily and take off.

Must be big for WRs also for YAC, which will want to be big as well.

I personally capped catching first so far its been pretty good only had 8 drops this season and maybe only 2 or 3 after I capped it .Now I dont get a ton of looks as I am the back up but its nice to make those looks count .I am now going to work on AGI and Speed as my next focus.I dont have any gear in catching as I think the natural leveling should do me fine from here on out. If i start dropping a ton of balls this might change my course but until then I think I will look to get Speed to the 3-1 and agi to the 2-1 and if things are going pretty well at that point look into adding points to Route run Sticky and Quick cut sometime after lvl 22 or so .
