1 (1)- Rotterdam Roughnecks 6-1 - Defending champs rolled thru rebuilding Billy Goats as expected, rolling up 785.5 yards of total offense. Billy Goats managed to keep it under 100. Player of the Game: Roughnecks QB Corey Smith 21/26, 346.5yds, 5 TD, 0 Int
Next week vs PPP Longnecks- Good game here against a solid Longnecks team that came up just short against the Pimps.
2(2) - Frankfurt Heat 6-1 - Frankfurt has not looked like themselves on offense this season. The good news is, the defense has been pitching in with the scoring. None bigger than Dee Morley's 102 yard interception return for TD, effectively a 14 point swing in game the Heat won by 11. Player of the Game, Heat CB Dee Morley who also had 5 tackles and 2 pass defensed.
Next week at Blind Rage, Everyone in Frankfurt has been wondering what happened to their offense. Will the Heat defense score more TDs than their offense this game?
3(3) - Korb Destroyers 6-1 - Not a whole lot to talk about in Korb's 41-13 victory over an overmatched Blind Rage team. Player of the game, offseason acquisition HB Mageta Montoya 17 Rush, 128.5yds; 2 Rec, 10.5yds; 2 TD.
Next week vs Rohrheim Stampede, Korb will have its hands full against a very good Stampede team.
4(5)- Rohrheim Stampede 5-2 - When your conferense is as competitive as WEPL Zeta is, you take any win you can get, no matter how ugly it was. Rohrheim managed to overcome a strong game by the Stockholm defense and do just enough to get the victory. Player of the game, umm can't really find one.
Next week at Stockholm Meatball- Showdown with Korb looms bigs as Rohrheim looks to improve itself in the standing. Korb has never beaten Rohrheim if I'm not mistaken.
I stand corrected, apparently I musta slept thru both those wins...
5(6)- Rivals Mainboard Pimps 5-2 - This was a hell of game between two teams with similar philosophies. Despite losing the turnover battle, the Pimps stayed patient and true to their MO. Pimps HBs Lee Suggs and Graig Cooper combined for 59 carries for 205 yards on the ground. Player of the game, despite the solid effort by the Pimps HB, DE MrBundy came up huge in OT, first stuffing Longnecks HB Luke Emia on 2nd down and then sacking QB Levi Jackson on 3rd down. The Pimps took over after that and drove down for the go ahead score.
Next week vs Reykjavík Aggies - Big game here against a surging Aggies team.
6(8) - Reykjavík Aggies 5-2 - Did what they had to do in dispatching the Cowboys. Wasn't much of a contest to speak of, I was wrong about Copenhagen maybe keeping it under 100. Player of the Game: Reykjavik QB Manny White who was 41 out of 52 for 475yds with 9 TD and 0 Int.
Next week at Rivals Mainboard Pimps - I doubt the Aggies will put up 100 points on the Pimps. QB Manny White has been on a tear this season, projecting to post career highs in all major passing categories.
7(4) - Stockholm Meatball 5-2 - Stockholm squandered a pretty good day by their defense which had 4 sacks of Rohrheim starting QB Gunn Slinger as well as holding Rohrheim to .7 yards per rush on the ground. Player of the game for Stockholm is HB Mal Brown who gave the Stampede a workmanlike effort with 105 yards on 17 carries.
Next week at Copenhagen Cowboys - Meatballs get a much needed chance to get themselves together before a showdown with the Pimps the following week.
8(unranked) - Multiple Scorgasm 4-3 - Breaks into the top 8 after downing a fast fading Paris team 26-7. Multiple never let Paris get anything going offensively as the lone Paris TD was an INT return for a TD. Player of the game, Multiple HB Tasmanian Devil who carried 25 times for 152 yards and 1 TD.
Next week at MA Trolls - Multiple plays the Trolls who are right behind the Scorgasms in the standing. With more good teams than playoff spots, this game is huge for both teams.
Bubble Teams
PPP Longnecks 4-3- good showing against the Pimps but moral victories don't earn playoff spots
Porto Reconquistas 3-4 - win a game and lose a game, not going to get you far in this league.
MA Trolls 4-3 - winning four straight has this team back in the hunt.
Next week vs PPP Longnecks- Good game here against a solid Longnecks team that came up just short against the Pimps.
