I'm limiting mine to the Eastern Conference as usual, but if someone has anything to say in the West feel free, no sense limiting the thread to just the East.

Blow-Outs:

Orlando @ Port Moody - Orlando
Yancy @ Thundertown - Yancy
Bayou @ Bronx - Bayou (not likely to be a ridiculous blow out, Bronx is the best 0-5 team)

Competitive Games:

Teikoku @ Washington - Teikoku has a win already, Washington isn't likely to have one until they play Port Moody or Thudertown. I'm tempted to put this one in the blow-outs section.

Huntsville @ Battle Creek - Huntsville should have this one, the question is what their offense will do. Huntsville still has a couple of middle tier teams left on their schedule to work on their game plan before their ig games against Reno, Bayou, Maryland, Cleveland and (sucks for them) South Texas in the 2nd half of the season. Battle Creek isn't as good as Florida though and I think the Rockets will get 200+ yards rushing this time unless they decide to work on their pass offense some.

Florida @ Hartford - Realistically a loss here probably costs Hartford the playoffs this season. Rochester, Florida, Yancy Street and Hartford will be fighting for the last 2 seeds more than likely and losses to both Rochester and Florida will mean Hartford needs some outside help and a heck of a run to make the post season. Unfortunately a loss is probably what they are looking at, Florida has been getting better every season and this one is no exception. Hartford's defense is going to have to stop Purple Jesus, no one has held him to under 4 yards per carry. I say Florida by at least 10 unless Hartford makes some SERIOUS changes on offense tonight.

Reno @ Rochester - I feel like Reno needs to not only win, but win decisively if they want to stay up near the top of my list. Reno proves levels aren't everything when compared to builds and sound strategy, but they've had to rely on some great defensive plays when they faced Cleveland and Orlando. That defense is the reason that I think they get win over Rochester. Reno will be the only team other than Bayou to win against both Orlando and Cleveland since Huntsville lost their season opener to the Bone Crushers/Soul and if only for that reason I have to think the Knights are doing something right.

Game of the Week (or day)

Maryland @ Cleveland - If you don't think this game will have playoff implications then I'd love to see your predictions for the final standings. If Maryland wins then I've probably been underestimating them so far this season. However I just don't like their lack of depth, especially on defense. Their starters on defense are pretty solid though, their D-line in particular can create lots of pressure (see their 5 hurries and 3 sacks when they beat us in the playoffs last season for more on that). If Cleveland's offense can stay on the field with some long drives they can probably capitalize on their superior depth in the 2nd half. Unfortunately for Maryland, offensive is Cleveland's strength, only 1 team kept them from scoring more than 34 Points and that was when Reno gave up over 500 yards offense but got a lot of turnovers. Barring a similar turnover disaster I have to go with Cleveland by a TD or two.

Teikoku did about what I thought they would, as I said above I suspected this one might be a blow out.

Black Flag played a great game, don't let the score fool you. Definitely the only 60 point game I have ever not been very happy about. After some lucky breaks in the first 2 quarters we couldn't get it done.

Huntsville didn't impress as much as I thought they would, which is an even more impressive accomplishment by Battle Creek. It's still a loss, but it is one of the most impressive efforts I have seen this season.

Hartford kept themselves in realistic playoff contention with an upset and some solid defense. A pick six and then later on a FG after another turnover sealed the deal. Great job proving me wrong Hustlers, it's getting more and more difficult to sort out Hartford, Rochester, Florida, and Yancy Street's positions in the rankings.

Reno had a disappointing day, I thought they had it in the bag. Rochester appears to have known running wasn't going to be much of an option and so kept the ball in the air all game with great success.

Maryland's defense came up huge today, they are really shaking up my rankings with this one. The INT return for a TD on the first defensive play after they just scored a TD gave them a lead in the 2nd quarter and by keeping Cleveland to 5 yards a pass they never let them get back in it.

That makes me 5-3 this week, but even then a couple of the wins weren't quite what I predicted. A great and surprise-filled day in the East makes for a pretty mediocre day for prognostications.

Even though we at Reno lost, it's a long season and we'll be back.
I think I can speak for everyone in the league in saying, your efforts are very much appreciated and enjoyed!

Big game coming up in the Western Conference:

South Texas Rattlesnakes vs Las Vegas Lightning
The last two undefeated teams in the conference.

I can't predict the score, but I am certain this is gonna be a good one.

Agreed, this has the appearance of a "knock-down, drag-out slobberknocker" of a game.

To quote the Highlander: "There can be only one!"
