For my TE what are some reasons that he didn't score on this play, at least to me it looks like he should have.

looks like speed & agility to me

It seems like agility/acceleration problem.
You went to a dead stop to catch the ball, and you had trouble getting back to top speed before the LB tackled you.

the ball might of been thrown short

All right thank you, I'm pretty sure it isn't speed so I'll raise agility and hopefully I'll get another chance.

either agility or catching...

higher agi gives you better acceleration
higher catching will help you make catches without losing speed
