Hey everyone, I've been working on a spreadsheet formula to calculate a "coverage score" out of 100. I just set it up on Google Docs so anyone can go in and edit their own stats. It requires you to watch the entire game and input targets, completions, yards allowed, TD's allowed, PD's and INT's and calculates your score. Obviously you lose points for targets, completions, and yards/TD's allowed, while gaining a bit from PD's, INT's and a low comp. %. Highest possible score is 100/100 (1 target which ended up as an INT). Should be fun to see some of the scores all you "shutdown corners" get rather than judging by stats alone. Any questions on how it works (or if I have the privacy settings wrong) just PM or post here

Think there's an issue with this spreadsheet. I appear to have gotten a score of 102.00. Two targets, one pick, one deflection. Overall, awesome idea, kinda expands further on what I've been charting for my own team.

Edit: Actual score comes out to 103.00. Targeted once, deflected once, picked off on a zone over the top. Decent system, for sure. Definitely like the mold this is made in, just needs a little tweaking. Awesome work here, no doubt.

My bad, must not have been thinking. I'll probably fix it another time, but for now we'll just say you beat the game!

New scores of 93.00 and 101.00. C'mon, folks, post your scores here. Breaking down your coverages isn't that hard!

4 Targets, 1 Completion for 4.5 yards, 1 pass deflection, 1 interception would be what?

I am a little confused about the math.

Put you stats in the spreadsheet and it does the math for you

Spreadsheet brings it to an 82.25. Just to liven this up a bit, after charting my team's corners, I have also seen scores of 78.00, 75.00 and several others that aren't quite worth throwing in here. And while it's not quite designed for this, throwing in my season's stats gives me a rating of 82.25 through five (one scrimmage) games.

Yeah it doesn't work great for season totals or any large number of stats. I use a larger version for every player on our defense and keep track of everyone's avg score/game.

Bump again, this is an awesome tool. I highly recommend it to everyone in this forum. It takes some work to use, but now you'll really see how good your corners are compared to everyone else of any different coverage type.

Spreadsheet seems to have been broken again. Not sure what's going on now, but this is pretty frustrating. Any chance at another fix?

In one game not against a gutted team, my CB had:

11 PDs, 3 to force punts, 1 to force a turnover on downs
5 Tackles [1 was to force a 3rd and 2.5, 1 was on a WR that another CB was covering, 1 gave up 11 yards and a 1st down(OUCH), 1 was to prevent a TD, and the 5th was a...]
FF that was recovered by a S for a TD

And yet he got an 85.something score on this spreadsheet. :/

85 is a VERY good score. And half the things you listed aren't factored into the score (1st downs, tackles, FF, or 3rd down stops) so they are irrelevant.

Hopefully I'll have time to watch some of my games this week and give this a shot. Just want to be certain I'm not getting beaten on plays that I can't CTRL-F to

Awful, awful game for me this week. Comes in at a -20.63. By far my worst week to date.

My CB is completely broken atm so i'll resist doing this, think I would have been closer to -100 than a 100 last few games.
