Zeta Pro Rankings: Week 2
I like doing power rankings, but I was hesitant at first because I am new to this league. If I underrate/overrate a team, feel free to let me know. Don’t expect these on a bi-daily basis, these power rankings are pretty time consuming. If anyone is interested in splitting Zeta ranking duties let me know

The Champs
1. Neil Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon (from now on referred to as NACJAC)
2-0 and the Season 4 SEA Pro Champs puts them at #1 by default. They are a cross between the New York Giants Defense with their dominating defensive ends and the New England Patriots offense with an absolutely lethal deep passing game. They get a chance to break the Blood Pandas 22 game winning streak.
Next up: Taiwan Blood Pandas-7

The Contenders

2. Krakatoan Red Warriors
Big victory over the Hot Mamas elevates them to #2. However, the victory can be mainly attributed to 3 lost fumbles which they probably can’t bank on happening again if they meet them in the playoffs. But of course a W is a W.
Next up: Johor Bahru Beach Bums-45

3. Ho Chi Minh Hot Mamas
Despite being 1-1, the Hot Mamas stays at #3 due to how close their game to the Red Warriors was. Being a one man team, their depth is unmatched, so they can easily rise up to #1.
Next up: Makati Red Robins-41.5

The Rookies

4. Manila Warlords
The recently promoted AAA#1 champion Manila Warlords start off hot with a 2-0 start. With a higher point disparity in their victories, they rank higher than the Blood Pandas due to the uncertainty surrounding the new teams. They play a Metro Heroes team that I am uncertain about because they have two CPU starters.
Next up: Metro Heroes:-17

5. Taiwan Blood Pandas
The AAA#2 champions continue to ride a 22 game winning streak coming into their game against NACJAC. This game will help a lot in trying to gauge how the Pandas measure up in SEA Pro.
Next up: NACJAC+7

Still Dangerous

6. Hong Kong Highlanders
A narrow loss to NACJAC actually elevates this team in the same way the Eagles got respect for hanging with the Cowboys on MNF. Accumulating a stunning 286.5 yards rushing, this squad may break into the top 3 before the mid season point.
Next up: 4077th MASH-20

7. Bangkok Tweetys
Two Zeta Championships and a solid roster give this team the cred to stay in the top 8 despite a rout at the hands of the Hot Mamas. They face a hungry 0-2 Ducks team and NACJAC in what is as brutal an opening season stretch I’ve ever seen.
Next up: Guangzhou Ducks-6

Stuck in the Middle
8. Metro Heroes
Not sure what to think of this team. They beat two of the lower tier Zeta teams, but I can’t get over the fact they are starting two CPUs.
Next up: Manila Warlords+17

9. Port Moresby Titans
After an absolute thrashing by NACJAC, the Titans rebounded nicely against MASH. Their next two games are against average teams, so they may have time to position themselves for the post season.
Next up: Kentucky Colonels-16.5

10. 4077th Mash
This very All-American team looks good, but they are going to need more time to develop their talent. They will be playoff contenders in Season 6.
Next up: Hong Kong Highlanders+20

The Underdogs
11. Shanghai Shaolin Monks
A team with AA level talent playing in Pro, they got beaten down by the Warlords but stomped on the Stampede. Things don’t look bright as they face the Hot Mamas next. They will need more time to close the gap with the top of SEA Pro.
Next up: Ho Chi Minh Hot Mamas+41.5

12. Guangzhou Ducks
Easily the team with the brightest future among the bottom six, Guangzhou has plenty of talent to make the playoffs but just has to survive their brutal opening four game schedule. I have them rated in the top 8, but a 0-2 team is a 0-2 team, so objectively I had to rank them here. I am confident they will rebound though.
Next up: Bangkok Tweetys+6

13. Kentucky Colonels
A competitive game against the 4077th Mash puts them at #13. They get a chance to redeem themselves after a 9-44 loss to the Heroes as they face off against the Titans as big underdogs.
Next up: Port Moresby Titans+16.5

The Southeast Asia AAA Sweepstakes
14. Makati Red Robins
They have talent, but Southeast Asia Pro may just be too competitive.
Next up: Peking Stampede-24.5

15. Johor Bahru Beach Bums
Face off against the Red Warriors as mega underdogs.
Next up: Krakatoan Red Warriors+45

16. Peking Stampede
The owner of the Stampede also has a great Western Europe team. I’m guessing this is probably a farm team.
Next up: Makati Red Robins+24.5

Overall a great writeup. I will give you where I would rank the top 10 of Zeta and mine will be based more on historic performance than the opening two weeks.

The Best of the Best:
1) Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon(2-0): Kings of the mountain until proven otherwise. The returning SEA Pro champs have started off well, and will have a chance to really cement their standing with victories over the newcomer Blood Pandas in week 3, a rematch of last years Zeta Conf. Champ game vs. the Tweetys week 4, and a showdown against the always fierce Krak Warriors week 5.

Contenders for the Crown:
2) Krakatoan Red Warriors (2-0): Finally getting the monkey off their backs and beating the Hot Mamas moves them into the two spot. The victory marks the first against the Mamas who had haunted the Red Warriors since the season 2 regular season, the last time the Warriors were victorious against the Mamas. The Warriors have their work cut out for them, with the scrappy Ducks in week 4 and NACJAC week 5, along with a very intriguing (and long-awaited) week 16 game versus a perrenial Alpha contender, Phuket All.

3) Ho Chi Minh Hot Mamas (1-1): A disappointing loss to the Red Warriors in week 2, but the always fiesty Mamas are competitive in any game. Their depth is second to none, and are sure to rebound to 3-1 leading to a week 5 matchup against the upstart AAA #1 champion Manila Warlords.

Playoff Pack:
4) Bangkok Tweetys (1-1): A loss to the Mamas won't drop you far in any power ranking, and the season 2 Zeta champs are back in business after an impressive playoff run to the Zeta title game last year. A very intriguing rematch against NACJAC in week 4 looms on the horizon of this always dangerous team, but they must not overlook the scrappy Ducks.

5) Taiwan Blood Pandas (2-0): The champions of AAA #2 last year open up the season with an impressive win against the Ducks, but have lots to prove still in the Pros, starting with the defending champion NACJAC this week and a face-off with a strong Highlanders team.

6) Hong Kong Highlanders (1-1): The Highlanders boast an impressive run offense and played the champs NACJAC to within a TD in their matchup week 2. They have a soft opening schedule but will make or break their season in weeks 7-9. This is a dangerous team with tremendous upside potential.

7) Manila Warlords (2-0): The Warlords can easily be ranked higher, but remain here solely due to this being their rookie season in the pros, and strength of schedule to open this season. The AAA #1 champs from last year are no slouches and are due to compete with the best this year. A put up or shut up game against Ho Chi awaits week 5.

8) Guangzhou Ducks (0-2): Easily the toughest 4 game opening schedule in all of SEA Pro, the Ducks are an underrated team with lots to prove this year after a disappointing 3-game losing skid to end last season, followed by an early exit in the playoffs. They play the Tweetys week 3 and Krak Red Warriors week 4, and must perform above themselves in order to avoid an 0-4 start. Don't be fooled by record; this team knows how to compete with the best Zeta has to offer.

On the Outside:
9)Port Moresby Titans (1-1): I had to rank these guys above 4077th due to a victory in week two against them. The Titans who got whalloped week 1 against NACJAC, but rebounded against a rebuilt 4077th M.A.S.H. team. We will know what these guys are really made of after a brutal 4-game stint against Zeta's best in the middle of the season.

10) 4077th M.A.S.H. (1-1): This team is good news, band news. Good news: A solid victory against a former playoff team Kentucky Colonels has them with a win. Bad News: Next 4 week schedule: Week 3 vs. Highlanders, Week 4 vs. Blood Pandas, Week 5 vs. Tweetys, Week 6: Red Warriors. Ouch.

I think blood pandas are a lot scarier than people give them credit for, and people give them a lot of credit. Competition is definitely getting tighter. Regulations and promotions are evening things out a lot quicker than I thought it would; in two more seasons both conferences should be a straight out brawl. It's going to be a fun season.

Ouch indeed. Thanks for reminding me what lies ahead lol. This is why coaches talk about one game at a time. I'll hope to fluke a win in that 4 game stretch.

Great job to both JT and bazooka! And I definitely agree with both of you regarding the Ducks, regardless of their record and merciless schedule to start the season, they are not a team to be taken lightly. It's always hard to judge how the "newcomers" will do, but I think history has shown they usually can hold their own and do quite well.

And to the guys from the 4077th... uh.. good luck with that 4 week stretch. lol (Well except for Week 6. )

Not 'good luck', will need a good prayer for each of the next four weeks. And normally i'd trash talk you right now about how im gonna pwn your team, but it would be like a 5 year old trying to kick the shins of a giant.
