Some surprises in store, and after this week(unless they pick up there games, I will be leaving the Vandalizers and Royals out. How it looks now, they should combine for only one win.
1(1) - Bangkok Seamen(2-0) - The inactives are back for the Seamen, and they completely dismantled a very solid looking PSK team, holding them to 151 yards while putting up over 600. Bangkok is most likely already looking ahead to a Conference Championship game rematch week 6 vs ESL.
Next week vs Pattaya Partisans *GAME OF THE WEEK* - After dominating similar leveled opponents weeks 1 and 2, I see no reason why they won't continue the trend this week.
2(2) - East St. Louis Tire Fires(2-0) - Not much problems for ESL vs the FaceEaters, rolling over them as expected. They Tar Far must have PSK circled as a tune up before a huge match with Bangkok.
Next week vs Xi'an Dragons - Tire Fires should run away with this one(literally)
3(4) - Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates(2-0) - The last of the Alpha undefeateds, the Pirates completely dominated the Gamblers in every phase of the game. The easiest starting schedule of the top 3, they should be 3-0 heading into Phuket.
Next week vs Niagara Jeanhorns - I don't see any way the Pirates lose
4(5) - Phuket All(1-1) - Great win over a strong Singapore team, holding there rushing attack to a 3.1 average and forcing them to win the game through the air, which the Marauders couldn't do.
Next week at Holbrook Roadrunners - Phuket dominates the Roadruners in all phases
5(9) - Queensland Flash(1-1) - Statement win over the Partisans, the flash have some important games vs possible playoff teams the next few weeks they will need to win if they want to be considered contenders. They also will need to get more than 157 passing yards if they hope to compete with the leagues best.
Next week vs Chaiyaphum Gothic - Flash start a winning streak and build momentum heading towards Phuket
6(3) - Singapore Marauders(1-1) - Losing to Phuket wasn't unexpected, but is a big blow to the Marauders showing that if you stop there running game, you stop them. Will this be a blueprint to defeating Singapore all season long?
Next week vs Canisteo FaceEaters - Marauders in a landslide
7(7) - Pennsylvania Silver Knights(1-1) - Losing to Bangkok was expected. Getting completely whipped in all phases wasn't. A lackluster performance vs the Dragons followed by this undressing has me questioning PSK's ability to compete.
Next week at Spokane Vandalizers - They need to come out and dominate, and dominate now with ESL the week after.
8(6) - Pattaya Partisans(1-1) - You need to be able to stop the run if you want to compete with any of the top teams in SE Asia Pro. With halfbacks like Beav Nizzle, Meth Head and Ricky Waters, it is essential. The Partisans let up 315 to a Flash team that they will be directly battling with for a playoff spot. They might be on the outside looking in this season
Next week at Bangkok Seamen *GAME OF THE WEEK* - After the Flash's ground game success, I see no reason why Bangkok won't put up even better numbers
9(10) - Niagara Jeanhorns(1-1) - Shutting down the Roadrunners is just what they needed to do to move past the Gamblers. How they fare this week will tell if they are ready to compete with the Partisans, PSK and Flash.
Next week at Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates - Pirates have too much talent to not win this one
10(9) - Macau Gamblers(1-1) - Expected loss vs the Pirates still should not be acceptable. There offense gave up more points than they scored. They have an easy game vs the Royals before a must win showdown with the flash if they want any chance at sniffing the playoffs.
Next week at Taiwan Royals - Only a blowout would be acceptable this week.
11(11) - Chaiyaphum Gothic(1-1) - They played the Pirates tough week one, and totally destroyed the Royals like they needed to. This week could be winnable if there coaching staff is up to the task. If they want any hope at sneaking into the playoffs, they need a win in one of there next two weeks.
Next week at Queensland Flash - The Flash have beaten better teams in AAA(Monsoon and Hitmen) as well as the Pro's(Partisans) I don't see the Gothic having a chance unless the Flash look past them
12(12) - Xi'an Dragons(1-1) - Shutout win vs the Vandalizers is more impressive then the bottom teams games, holding Spokane to 92 yards. Playing ESL and Singapore tough the next two weeks is crucial if they want to have a shot at the 8th seed.
Next week at East St. Louis Tire Fires - The Dragons are praying they can keep the game somewhat close vs a much more talented team
13(14) - Canisteo FaceEaters(1-1) - It's not often you move up with a loss, but Holbrook is dropping the ball and I can't rank a team with no wins over one with a win. They were dominated in all phases this week, but at the hands of ESL that isn't horrible. They put points on the board which is more than was expected.
Next week at Singapore Marauders - Singapore is looking for a rebound game and they get it big time vs the FaceEaters
14(13) - Holbrook Roadrunners(0-2) - Losing to Macau and Niagara, and a guaranteed loss vs Phuket before a showdown with the team directly above them. They need to get there act together quick or risk moving down.
Next week vs Phuket All - They need to put points on the board and be in the game at least a quarter or they will be forgotten
15(15) - Spokane Vandalizers(0-2) - Destroyed by a non specatcular Dragons team after being crushed by the FaceEaters tells the story. The Royals should be there only win.
Next week vs Pennsylvania Silver Knights - No way I see the PSK losing unless they truly are "paper champions"
16(16) - Taiwan Royals(0-2) - I don't see them winning a game, and honestly they would do well to be moved down a few leagues. How the first season league champs have fallen, not sure what Duhjeff is doing with them
Next week - does it even matter? There staying here for the rest of the season unless a miracle happens.
