In my team's last 2 games (1 regular season, 1 friendly) we have a total of 23 drops. 80% of the passes we've thrown so far are either short or medium range, and the QB's throwing style is set to finesse. All our TEs and WRs have 40-50 catching, and the QB is not being hurried very often. I've noticed that some teams are having almost no drops, so what are we doing wrong? Last season we had hardly any drops with almost exactly the same setup.

we had about 2 drops per receiver as well. All of our guys over 40+ catching...same thing in our last scrimmage game. I wonder if Bort changed the settings again.

So many things can play a part, as I'm sure you know.

Really high drop-rates seem to be a combination of two things. One, the WRs are trying to make catches that are on the outer edge of their catching range. This could be because the QB isn't putting it where it needs to be, or because they don't have the vision to run towards the pass, or don't have the jumping, etc. This results in the first couple drops. Then, of course, lower confidence turns 2 consecutive drops into 15.

WRs now need a lot of balance to be effective. Tell your receivers to look at their speed/agility/vision/jumping/confidence/SAs and see if anything is lacking. I know it's tempting to put the next 10 SPs to get that speed up, but the difference between 25 vision/jumping and 35 was huge for my WR.

My WR had a ton of speed and capped catching. Dropped probably 20% of his passes, especially on breakaways. Boosted him, got his jumping and vision to 35, he now drops maybe 10% and hasn't dropped any on breakaways.

Also, check your QB's throwing/vision and see if his Tight Spiral is up. I've heard it needs to be as high as 5.
