Most teams turn auto-adjust off, some depend on it.
Definitely don't be somewhere in the middle- if you put a complicated gameplan in the AI, auto-adjust will likely ruin it.
If you depend on auto-adjust, the best strategy I've heard is start out heavily favoring one tactic, and let a high auto-adjust move it off if it doesn't work.
