I have a team that is going to take in players and then hold a Draft at the end of each season.

For details see this thread : http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1030464&page=1

Anyone want into the first GLB draft class???

Teams in the Draft will be reviewed for competancy and Owners/Gms track records etc, I wont be sending people out to play for idiots.

Anyone with a player Level 1-13 that wants to try and get a Draft system running let me know.

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around exactly how it would work....

Well it will work like a Farm team would.

Only there is no one big parent team.

I have signed up a skeleton crew roster of people who know the deal before they sign up.

They can build however they want, and set whatever personal tactics they want.

I will vary the tactics etc to give them all a fair chance of creating a highlight film.

They will all get max XP.

I am choosing experienced GLBers, and have got some big names to join up as well.

What you get out of it...

TEAM
* Forum access, to 'Get to know players'
* A fair draft order
* Ability to trade Draft picks
* Ability to play Scrimmages against your team which you set the tactics and Depth Chart for
* Player to be traded to your team with a full one season contract.

PLAYER
* Guarentee of ideal conditions to build your player.
* Guarantee that if your not picked up by a team you are released from a contract.
* Guarantee of high quality teams and owners involved in the draft.
* Guarentee of a 'Equal and fair chance to impress'.

Time with the Draft Class will be as follows;

Season 1 - A player can declare Draft Eligibility if they wish. If they choose they can be kept out of the Draft.

Season 2 - Same as Season 1.

Season 3 - All players are eligible, but if they are not drafted they are released from contract.

*** All players that wish to enter the draft must be with a Draft Class Team for at least half a season (ie before the transfer deadline.) ***

I am setting up a Draft Commission to define the Draft teams and set a fair Draft order.

All the teams must meet a minimum required standard, of Reputation, Knowledge, Activity etc to be able to draft a player.

Ah...that was one of the points I was unclear on. Basically, who gets to partake in the draft (say, only teams that donate a player for example)?

Well thay might get it on the tiebreaker

But no really any and every team can apply to be involved, it cost them nothing.

I am going to be making sure the Draft Class get a lot of exposure, in the forums, on GLB Radio etc.

If teams need players and see one they like that has Declared for the Draft, then they can apply to enter the draft.
(About Game 6-8 for final applications, Game 10 for Final Draft order.)

We will check them out, and rate them on various factors that are still being decided precisely, but basically it comes down to.

1) Ability to look after a Draftee.
Which means knowledge of GLB and reputation as a fair and good owner.

2) Ability to give a Draftee a good career.
Which is much more complicated, but using WEPL, WuJax would be let in on their ability to provide success, but might be ranked beneath say, Vikings who need that one player to push themselves over the top.
And they might both be ranked below a team promoted from AAA.

PLEASE remember this is only a rough example and not finalised yet.
Just for illustrative purposes!

Reeeaaaallly......sooooo, let's just say "theoretically", I'm thinking of supporting your idea. Just how high would you be willing to put us in the draft order in return for our support?

since all the players are about level 1-13 can we throw in a curveball and make Lee Suggs available for the draft? I would love to play against competition like that lol

Well it depends on how many teams enter and who they were.

But we want the best teams, and the ones that need the player the most.

So you would be below any WEPL Zeta team that lost in the play offs, but above anyone who missed the play offs completely.

It might only be one position, so you could easily trade up to get it.

Funny you should mention that...
I have been contacted by about 10 players, levels 25-30 that would like to do a mini draft this season as well.

If anyone has mid level players that they Want to move and dont mind where if it was a draft process (All decent teams but more fun this way.)

Let me know as well.

I will sort out a Private Forum for Drafts.

I was thinking about buying a New Season 6 Team and to set up kind of a Farm Team.

The idea was, that everybody is given full freedom to develop their players as wanted(Slow Building, Boosting, non Boosting...)and cash trade them (if possible) at a user choosen time.

Maybe we could cooperate from next season on. Under Lv 13 Players who are not interested to enter the Draft or to hit the FA market could join my Team ...

Ok, first let's see how you get your system running and if their is interest form Teams from Players and of course from your side.
