It looks like cover 2 at beginning, but FS moves toward LOS immediately at snap and try to cover HB. Is this cover 0? I thought cover 0 usually had safeties more closer to LOS.

Pure Cover 0 Man. No zone underneath. Just some double coverage going on.

I agree, Cover 0. Whoever created that play needs to put in a red zone or goalline D. CBs/Safeties are backing up way too much.

either cover 0, medium or long distance for the safeties OR cover 2 with a FS blitz (probably by accident - left the fields blank).

Thanks all, can you please help me on one more?

First play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=139292&pbp_id=9975373

This is obvious a cover 1.

Second play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=139292&pbp_id=9975454

This looks like a cover 1 because SS goes back to patrol deep center initially. However, if we compare second play to first play, it looks like SS starts at same location. The main difference is that the first play is a pass and SS goes to cover TE. It seems like SS plays man-to-man and TE is his responsibility. The second play is a rush and since TE stays on blocking, it may cause SS to find another player to play man-to-man and make it looks like he plays cover 1.

Is second play a cover 0 or cover 1?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like the FS was on a blitz, the MLB was covering the HB and the SS and LB tried to double cover the TE and was late. It was a cover 1 man with the SS who woulda been the deep safety.

This play looks like a standard cover 3 Zone. the FS and CB double covering the WR. I am not sure if this is a glitch or not, you might ask arounf the bugs forum about this play.

I'm 99% certain the FS is covering the HB, just look at the angle and slight arc on the FS movement. It changes to a beeline to the TE when the ball is released.

First is Cover 1. I'm not 100% on the second. It's Zone underneath (telltale LB symmetric fan out), but the FS doubling a WR like that is odd. Might be what happens with a Cover 0 call where the TE doesn't go into a route, so the SS just drops into a short middle zone.
