It's almost like there's an exactly-negative correlation between number of brag threads posted and number of trophies won.

Hmmm...

Correlation =/= causation. But clearly there is a correlation between being RC and winning championships.

If RC made brag threads do you think he'd have less success? Maybe you should stop bragging about other people's success to justify half-baked views?

Hmmm..

Okay, I think my status as Ultimate Darth Plagueis Doubter is pretty firmly established at this point, but 0 catches on 7 targets feels like... such an odd result that I don't know how much stock to place in it, y'know? That is a BIG statistical outlier.

EDIT TO ADD: I just watched all 7 targets. 6 of them were throws into double or triple coverage, usually provided by a Safety who was in perfect position to slide over and make a play on the ball. All 7 targets were deflected.

Masterful work by the Jackals defense.

Obviously I agree the Jackals deserve all the credit they can get. True effort and impressive play design was put into their gameplan. I don't thing the RNG did us any favors, but that's neither here nor there.

Facts:
1. GLB passing to WR's is hard. Sometimes it doesn't go well.
2. Sno (even after being demolished by the Jackals) is #3 in CL oPPG, and is tied for 3rd best CL record.

To anyone paying attention, my WR brag thread involved opening the build to try to challenge people to change how they think about building WR's. Also (given data so far in s105) there's an argument the possession slot WR's on Florida, Asua, and OPT are the best WR's in GLB over Plag. Hopefully GLB takes notes and explores into these builds as well.

There are "things" you can do to increase your passing productivity. I know this because I'm still learning them... even after all this time. Some "things" are receiver build related... some are QB related... and some are AI/play related. If I ever get them all figured out, you'll know. I got a target to hit. I've come close a few times but consistency always seems to elude me. Still, I've pretty much eliminated more of the negative results and am very slowly increasing the % I'm seeking. Maybe in 10 more seasons? 15? 20? 5? Next season? I dunno. I believe in a body of stats not one game or two. I'm a stubborn old fart... I am convinced I can reach my goal of 75% for 3 seasons. 66 is my best so far. Maybe 70 is the best anyone can do. I just don't buy it. So I grind on.

I've been saying it for a long time that the Jackals have a top notch DC. It's their OC that's stinking up the joint.

You're correct, correlation does not equal causation... but correlation doesn't eliminate causation either.

Causation, by definition, goes hand-in-hand with correlation. If two things are correlated to each other, a wise man (see what I did there?) figures out whether or not one is causing the other. Often, the answer is no. And often, the answer is yes. Automatically asuming either one without investigation is foolish.

RyanCane doesn't waste time on brag threads, which gives him more time to spend on running his team. He could justifiably brag FAR more on these forums than you or Playmakers or anyone else -- but he doesn't. He spends his time more... wisely.

But sure, correlation doesn't equal causation. Must be a coincidence. Completely unrelated.

Not enough is ever talked about with RNG. It is why it is so difficult to be just a RUSHING or PASSING TEAM. If you get an extreme RNG in your favor, you crush it but if you get a negative one against a good team, you are crushed.

Makes it a fun challenge for sure. You need enough passing if you are a rushing team or you need a lucky streak of RNGs in the playoffs and vice versa with the pass.

This is truth but it is also boring LOL. Would be more fun if he threw some shade once in awhile but he's great at this game without question. Whether the few seconds it takes to talk smack is the defining difference between one team and the next, I really doubt it.

Yeah, except that Wiseman does *research* for his trash talk, and he posts a LOT about his WR. We're clearly talking about more than a few seconds here.

If he spent less time bragging, I think he'd get results that are more worthy of bragging about.

He wants us to be impressed with a 4-3 record, a #3 seed, and an offense that scores 14 fewer points per game than the top offensive team. By his own standards, there are at least two teams clearly better than his.

I guess. I remember before the Dotpocalypse thought most teams would head up to WL to get slaughtered so I mean he is doing pretty well when you look at everything.

The take the I lose games this season because I made this post on February 20th is braindead stuff. https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5333285&page=1#50137964

And whether I have the #1 offense in WL this season (which I don't, obv) I've OC'd enough of them recently that my status as a top3 active OC is pretty clear. Again, weird you're trying to throw rocks at me about my OC'ing in general when (to me knowledge) you've never done anything more than gimmicky 100% run stuff that gets destroyed against real DC's.

I don't need you to be impressed, but you seem to be a bit focused on me not posting in the forums so you can have the glory of silent dead forums? Your argument that only RC is allowed to talk in the forums, and only the #1 offense in GLB is any good, are both really really stupid arguments that make this game worse.
