Tell me about it. I've already taken a double-dose of Excederin trying to figure this shit out.

Someone thought I had KC in the wrong spot before? Just wait... my new rankings will be a hot mess for everyone. Just tellin' y'all right now.

You should fuck with people and put the McCoys in the top spot due to style points.

NOVUS RANKINGS - AFTER 13 GAMES

(Note: these rankings are wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong. You have been warned.)

01) Oseberg Vikings {CANADA} (13-0) (12-0 in-conference)
Polished off their last cupcake, but now closes out with a trio of challenging games: the Real McCoys first, plus Burnside and BC. Still, Burnside's loss to Victoria gives Oseberg breathing space, and the Vikings can afford to drop a game and still finish #1 in Canada.

02) Cincinnati Shockers {USA} (12-1) (12-0 in-conference)
Held off a strong challenge from Choppin Broccoli, but now faces an even tougher challenge: the Palm Bay Palookas. If Cincy wins, their remaining schedule pretty much guarantees them the #1 seed in USA. If Cincy loses, they would need Palm Bay to lose their final two games in order to retake #1. Realistically, though, Cincy will finish no lower than #2, so we'll see how badly the Shockers want the top seed in USA.

03) Palm Bay Palookas {USA} (12-1) (11-1 in-conference)
Ate the last of their cupcakes, but now faces Cincy in their toughest test of the season. If Palm Bay loses, Cincy's remaining schedule means the ceiling for Palm Bay will likely be #2 in USA, and they could even fall as far as #6 if disaster strikes in their last 2 games. If Palm Bay wins, they'll just have to win one of their final two games with Austin and College Station to hold onto the top spot. So this game could be pivotal for Palm Bay's playoff seeding.

04) Burnside Bandits {CANADA} (11-2) (11-1 in-conference)
Lost to Victoria in OT in a game that shook up the playoff picture top to bottom. Burnside still has the inside track to the 2-seed in Canada and should be able to handle BC next, but Oseberg will be a fight, and Puffington is dangerous. Burnside needs to win 2 out of 3 to hold onto the 2-seed. They can also take #1, but they'll have to win out and hope that Oseberg also gets upset by the Real McCoys or BC.

05) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies {CANADA} (10-3) (9-3 in-conference)
I called the Duckies match-up with Vicious Circle a potential trap game, and boy did the Duckies get caught, losing by 7 in a game that really wasn't even that close. Still, their last 3 games are with the dangerous Dot Bilderberg Agency, Gun Circus and El Camino, so the Duckies probably have a top-4 finish wrapped up and have the inside lane for the 3-seed in Canada.

06) KC's Metro Choppers {USA} (10-3) (9-3 in-conference)
The top seed is likely beyond KC's reach, but with South Georgia (next), Nevada and the Aces left on their plate, KC is in control of the 3-seed in USA and could finish as high as #2 if things break just right for them.

07) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys {CANADA} (10-3) (9-3 in-conference)
Dominated BC, but Oseberg won't fall so easily. After that, the McCoys also still have to face Puffington, but they also have a guaranteed with over Grande. They haven't officially clinched a playoff spot, but things are looking good, and winning two of the next three should get them the 4-seed in Canada.

08) Choppin Broccoli {USA} (10-3) (9-3 in-conference)
Gave Cincy a fight, but fell short once again. The Broc faces the Aggies next, a team that is desperate to claw their way back into the playoff race. Choppin is in the fast lane for a top-4 finish in USA, but they have to win out against the Aggies, Austin, and the Royal Men. I think they're up to the task though.

09) Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys {USA} (11-2) (10-2 in-conference)
Bounced back from their shocking loss to Orlando with a shocking 23-point win over the Royal Men to bolster their position in the standings. But Austin still has to face the hungry Patriots next, followed by Choppin and Palm Bay, and I have doubts about Austin's ability to run that gauntlet. Still, their wins over KC and AtKRM show it's unwise to under-estimate Austin.

10) Puffington Magic Dragons {CANADA} (10-3) (9-3 in-conference)
Puffington came up big in the 4th quarter, grabbing the go-ahead score and then intercepting Dallas twice on their last two possessions to seal the win. Their remaining schedule is tough, but first they get a cupcake game from Drunk, and 11 wins should be enough to punch their playoff ticket even if they lose to Burnside and the Real McCoys. They also have a substantial advantage in points-allowed compared to the other teams around them in the standings, so that could help them in any 3-way tie-breaker scenarios.

11) All The King's Royal Men {USA} (9-4) (9-3 in-conference)
The Royal Men came crashing back down to earth as Austin ended their hot-streak with a 23-point loss. Orlando will be just as tough, and both the Broccoli and the Patriots loom ahead. But the Royal Men just need one more win to lock in a playoff spot, and I think they're probably good for 2 more.

12) Dallas Paladins {CANADA} (8-5) (8-4 in-conference)
Dallas had two chances to come back after Puffington took the lead in the 4th quarter, but the final two Paladin possessions both ended in interceptions. And if things play out the way I think they will, Dallas could end up in a 3-way tie at 11-5 with Puffington and Cobden in which points-allowed will have to break the tie. Time for Dallas's defense to step it up... Grande probably won't score on Dallas next, but both Bilderberg and Vicious sure could in Dallas's final two games.

13) Cobden Muskrats {CANADA} (8-5) (7-5 in-conference)
Cobden has two tough games with Vicious and Bilderberg left, plus a cupcake game with El Camino. I expect Cobden to win out, but a slip-up along the way could be fatal for Cobden's playoff hopes. And even if they win out, they stand a good chance of finishing in a 3-way tie with Puffington and Dallas in which points-allowed would break the tie. So, Cobden's D needs to lock down in a hurry.

14) Orlando Midget Mafia {USA} (8-5) (8-4 in-conference)
Beat Nevada soundly, though giving up 20 points to the Farm Boys has to be concerning. Still, barring a loss to Chicago, Orlando's playoff spot is secure at this point, but an upset win over the King's Men next would help them secure a higher seed.

15) Dot Bilderberg Agency {CANADA} (8-5) (8-4 in-conference)
Bilderberg's playoff position suddenly got way more precarious thanks to upset wins by Vicious and Victoria. At this point, Bilderberg needs to score an upset in one of their final three games with the Duckies (up next), Dallas or Cobden. If they don't, both Vicious and Victoria will likely finish with 9 wins ahead of Bilderberg's 8 to keep Bilderberg out of the playoffs. But if Bilderberg steals one more win to reach 9 wins, their earlier wins over both Vicious and Victoria should keep Bilderberg at the top of that pile and in the playoffs... unless Vicious scores an upset over Dallas or Cobden. Man, this shit is getting complicated.

16) Vicious Circle {CANADA} (8-5) (7-5 in-conference)
A strong win over the Duckies pumped new life into VC's playoff hopes. They'll get a 9th win over Drunk later, so if they can upset Cobden (next) or Dallas, 10 wins would be enough for Vicious to grab the final playoff spot in Canada… as long as Bilderberg loses 2 of their last 3 as well. Barring that, 9 wins still might be enough as long as Bilderberg drops their final 3 games with the Duckies, Dallas and Cobden.

17) State Of Franklin Patriots {USA} (8-5) (8-4 in-conference)
Crushed the Aggies by 17, and practically have a lock on the final playoff spot now. Even if the Patriots lose their final 3 games to Austin (next), Orlando, and the Royal Men, they'd still finish 8-8. The Aggies will have to sweep their final 3 games with Palm Bay, Choppin, and Hillbilly to finish at 9-7 ahead of the Patriots. Still, if the Patriots can steal one more win, they would completely slam the door shut on the Aggies.

18) Victoria Teabaggers {CANADA} (6-7) (5-7 in-conference)
The good news? Victoria grabbed a thrilling OT win over Burnside! The bad news? Vicious Circle also got an upset win over the Duckies, finally slamming the door shut on Victoria's playoff hopes. Victoria should be able to win out, but their ceiling is 9-7, and Victoria's earlier losses to both Bilderberg and Vicious mean there's no way for Victoria to get ahead of both teams in the standings to sneak into the 8-seed in Canada.

19) College Station Aggies {USA} (6-7) (6-6 in-conference)
Lost a crucial tie-breaking game to the Patriots, and now the Aggies have only one scenario left in which they can still make the playoffs: the Patriots have to lose their last 3 games to Austin, AtKRM and Orlando (possible), AND the Aggies have to win their last 3 games against Choppin (up next), Palm Bay and Hillbilly. The second half of that scenario is very doubtful... but not impossible.

20) South Georgia Growl {USA} (6-7) (5-7 in-conference)
Amazingly, the Growl are still alive for a playoff spot, but they'll have to beat KC Metro (up next), Cincy, and Southern, plus College Station will have to lose 2 of their last 3 and the Patriots will have to lose all of their final 3 games. Not impossible, but...

21) Sunday Funday {CANADA} (4-9) (3-9 in-conference)

22) BC Lions {CANADA} (5-8) (4-8 in-conference)
Vicious's upset of the Duckies has closed the door on BC. Their playoff hopes are officially done.

23) Nevada Farm Boys {USA} (3-10) (3-9 in-conference)
Nevada's ceiling is 7 wins if they somehow win out, and that still won't be enough for a playoff spot. They fight hard, but Nevada is just outmatched in USA Pro this season.

24) Chicago Bears 85 {USA} (3-10) (3-9 in-conference)
If they finish with 5 wins or more, I'll be amazed.

25) The Gun Circus {CANADA} (3-10) (3-9 in-conference)
Clearly shooting blanks.

26) Hillbilly Coondogs {USA} (3-10) (2-10 in-conference)
The second-worst human team in the USA.

27) GLB Gridiron Aces {USA} (0-13) (0-12 in-conference)
The worst human team in the USA.

28) El Camino {CANADA} (2-11) (2-10 in-conference)
Needs to be sold off for scrap metal.

29) Southern Storm {USA} (1-12) (1-11 in-conference)
CPU-owned team, though that does give them an advantage over human-owned teams with CPU rosters: no penalty to Southern's CPU dots.

30) Drunk Masterminds {CANADA} (0-13) (0-12 in-conference)
Terrible roster. Could probably still beat Grande Torino though.

31) Grande Torino {CANADA} (0-13) (0-12 in-conference)
Just awful. Would probably beat Tampa, but it would be close.

32) Tampa Bay Turbulence {USA} (0-13) (0-12 in-conference)
Human-owned. Empty roster. No threat.
