I dunno at some point you went from arguing that dots should be less priced to the price of flex all together should be dropped. Which really makes no sense for them as a business.

The thread might as well be locked, really, then. It was about costs of playing the game, and if that's not a subject on which the management want to hear users' opinions (I'm sure they've heard plenty though ) then it's pointless. Their game, their decisions, all fine by me. I'm far from convinced that they are right about it though. Perhaps their bank balances say they are.

More generally, the point about tying flex to all games stands. It doesn't allow them to regenerate GLB1. It suggests that it will be allowed to decline, ever more rapidly. Because what's left to get people spending on it again? I like GLB1. I think it's fairly entertaining, as far as it goes. But it's less entertaining with less people around, that's for sure. And allowing it to degenerate doesn't exactly fill me with excitement about the future of other products they come out with. Especially when - regardless of whether I've used it yet - the new game is a variant on the first one, with similar cost structures in the end, and is unlikely to carry all of the remaining users of GLB1 into it.

Don't know who you are but your making to much sense to me...stop it!!!..

Side note: How bout dem Lions

As for locking the thread. No reason to. I have no say in the current pricing structure of the game and there is no reason it can't continue to be discussed. The admins are always lurking around so it isn't completely out of the realm that an idea from this thread gives them something to think about.

Ah ok.

And I was trying to consider a way to genuinely reduce the cost of dots for GLB1 without diminishing the "investment return" that you now get from 70% refunds. Lowering the actual cost of flex would do that. But, as you say, it makes no sense for them as a business when they are wanting flex bought for brand new games. It does, however, make some sense to find a way to rejuvenate GLB1 by making it cheaper. Considerably cheaper. A game which relies heavily on forums and team chat and agents & coaches keeping life entertaining by posting will almost certainly be healthier if it has more people active. And will generate more investment. So I'd think, anyway.

And that I agree with. But it would most likely come at a reduced return rate. If they were going to lower their money received per dot, they would want to see a return elsewhere. A reduced cost per dot would get people to build more players and be better for the game. A reduced flex return would create the need to buy more flex and keep profits sustained.

Not really sure how much they are looking to change about GLB "classic" though. I imagine they are holding off really any thought about what to do with it until a release of GLB2 and how well that goes over.

The days of people shelling out a 100+ bucks a season are over, GLB2 is going to fail miserably with the 30% return.

Only way to make it work is if they went back to the SSB days and I don't see that happening.

Whether GLB2 fails or not will have nothing to do with the return. imo.

The current league structure is terrible...thanks to age-based leagues...but to each their own..

Lower the cost of building dots and introduce this....http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3946722

Win-Win another flex generator......after all it was going through implementation supposedly.....2 birds with 1 stone

I don't really like the current league structure either but they have to be age based to a certain point otherwise nobody is going to buy a rookie player.
