Statistical Infrequency
Under this definition of abnormality, a person's trait, thinking or behavior is classified as abnormal if it is rare or statistically unusual.
Violation of Social Norms
Under this definition, a person's thinking or behavior is classified as abnormal if it violates the (unwritten) rules about what is expected or acceptable behavior in a particular social group. Their behavior may be incomprehensible to others or make others feel threatened or uncomfortable.
Sociological norms are inconsistent across subcultures. Therefore, by your definition, every is to be viewed as insane who isn't in your particular cultural subgroup.
While I do agree that wearing a flat brimmed hat makes me doubt the wearers sanity and right to survive, you sure do end up with a wide definition of insanity that way. So wide, in fact that it isn't shared by many and makes you, according to your definition, clinically insane for believing it.

Embrace abnormality.
And salsa.
And yet he was probably nuts.
If he wasnt, he wouldn't have gotten himself thrown into prison.

It's a vicious circle and I want off.
Its decidedly culturally oriented.

Have faith, yello. The chips are out there. And they love you.
I am highly limited by the knowledge that partially hydrogenated oil is tres bad for folks.
Removing that from the ingredient list limits the chip pool considerably.

You need Trader Joes chips. They have lots of great ones that limit the bad oils yet still remain a quality chip. They also have a decent salsa autentica.
Or, frying up your own chips is pretty easy and you can control the oil you use.
(Note to Novus: Note the technique- a thread discussion has changed from religion to shopping and cooking, making it ineligible for movement to Politics and Religion).
