I have moved this back to GLB main because yes it is a discussion and not belong in FAQ. I was gonna lock it but there is some useful info here in all the mess. Keep discussion on track.

As per OP I generally use 2 centers, 4 OT's, and 4 OG's. I have thought about cutting down to 2-3-3 many times but have never actually done it. I would have to see the energy usage of teams who use 1 center. I would suppose that guy doesn't play ST's?
