as a chiefs fan myself and not so proud to say it sometimes i really really hope they dont take a first round qb. there isnt a good enough quality guy to be worthy of the.... ugh.... number 1 overall pick. i hate saying that about my chiefs...

i do hope that they go with another defensive stud to add to the defense and try to rebuild the offense thru the earlier rounds of the draft like rounds 2-5 and then find themselves a top flight qb in the trade market or fa.

personally like the idea of drafting star loutelli or ask the league if they could give up their first round pick for this season and team it with next seasons for jadeveon clowney from south carolina... since that isnt happening best bet would be trading back to the middle or even late first round stockpile picks for next seasons draft and hope they strike it rich there. im not really impressed with the talent pool in this seasons class, however next seasons class looks to be one of those great classes imo. not like last seasons class that to this point has pretty much rewrote the rookie record books in the nfl but a top class.

then targeting a guy like matt flynn or alex smith in the offseason would be a good idea for them. alex would be my ideal pickup since he could step in now and i think pick us up 5-6 wins next season. we need a little help with our oline and wrs obviously but i dont think the chiefs are as bad off as most think. the defense has some very good players in it they just need a better scheme and a run stuffer in the middle to help contain the rush. hence the star pick if we stay in that spot and choose.

Alex Smith is not the answer.

Chiefs could really use smith, but they need better Online for protection, they get blown off the ball all day

no for sure not the answer but he would be a good stop gap kinda guy for us to use a few seasons. mainly to wait and draft a qb next season cuz this seasons crop imo is weak

Chiefs don't need Alex Smith, they need an Offensive Coordinator.

Remember what Alex Smith was before Jim, and even then, he isn't much. Without an OC, Alex is worse then Cassell.

If i hear Chiefs need another stop gap QB im gonna puke. We havent drafted and developed our own QB early in so many years its not even funny, while every other team in the league tries it again and again until they hit something. We on the other hand dont even try and havent since i think Todd Blackledge.

Even if Geno isnt the route they want, there will be plenty of good prospects in the 2nd round like Mike Glennon, Tyler Wilson, or maybe even Barkley if he falls. We have to and will draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd. Also hopefully we find out tomorrow that Pioli and Crennel are both gone.

Guess you could say it is better than Arizona, they have drafted QB's but with no success; stay away from USC QB's.
