I am not trying do degrade anyone who hasn't already thrown the virtual internet punches at me already. This is the internet too. If anyone gets their feelings hurt by my conceitedness, then I feel sorry for your real life, because even these emoticons can't even come close to expressing crap over the internet.
I wish I did have some help on my team, but every time I have tried it didn't work out well at all. This is what I have gained by trying go gather help outside of myself:
My first losing season since season 3 I believe, because we didn't get the players we really needed. I was kind of upset about allowing certain players to be signed last season, but I honored my part as an owner and played these players.
The last person I let DC for my team basically went 0 for, and I had to retake the reigns to keep us on track for the playoffs. This was probably a mistake of mine as well, but boo hoo me for trying to get players more involved.
I do buy the fact that all facets of the game need to be run well to win at the high levels, but the truth of it is that Recruiting and AI are the top of the tops by far. If you have good enough players, you can go out there an run anything and be a playoff team. The recruiting part is so ridiculous and always has been. It's just getting worse as the seasons roll on.
As far as my draft suggestion: I don't even think half of you read it with any thought process. The idea was to allow good recruiters to stay atop with the best signings, but also it would be designed to allow other teams to fill rosters and be competitive as well. By being competitive, I don't mean they will be championship contenders....I mean they at least won't have to resort to being a high school team vs. Pro's.
Who here wants to play rosters that no one will go out on a limb for? I had to personally guarantee a player his release if I did not get the roster up to his likings. As much as I believed that I could handle the task, it has become nothing more than a popularity contest.....so it looks as though I may have to release him. At least he stuck his neck out and is giving me a chance to prove myself, but he is one of the rare agents that is looking at it this way.
I guess I just need to give up my golf career and other things, so I can go out there and pimp my fake internet life for popularity. I mean it has probably taken most of many seasons of this game just to get the nuances hatched out. The problem lies in all the changes every season. Granted the changes are "sometimes" for the better, but most of these changes you have to find yourself. It's like going to a library and trying to find a certain book with no alphabetizing organization and no librarian.....You just have to stumble across more than half of the shit that makes you better at this game.
There are still so many things wrong with this game. The problem is that I don't know if anyone of these MODS, ADMINS, or TESTERS really care enough to get things straight. Maybe they should get paid and not play the game at all? At least there would be unbiased workings that would happen much quicker.
I know this is a novel, but one day this game will hopefully get to where it should have been 5-6 seasons ago. Maybe....just maybe Bort will pull his head out of his big pile of money and take a breath one day.
