O, I just got offered the asst OC/DC of the Chocolate Blaze of the WL. I am sure they will fail now that I am going to be helping, but I would say that is an ok job.
You would have the most talented team in the game there. Anything less than a championship would be a choke imo.
The fact that you got offered the job doesn't say anything about how you would do though. World League compared to the AA or pee wee ball you have been playing would be like being offered the OC job of the Colts after only had experience running the offense for a middle school football team in South Dakota.
I'm sure you will do fine as OC since you do spend a lot of time on the game, but that has nothing to do with why some of my teams haven't quite got championships in the Pros or World League. You will see that it is night and day from winning championships in minor leagues where no one cares.

generally, oc'ing and dc'ing isnt a science, it's a time sink. teams get pretty desperate looking for help, and ask anyone on a team with a winning record. i've gotten a hanfull of unsolicited pm's asking to dc/oc world/pro teams over the last few seasons.
