being able to do more than run in a straight line real fast, might help him get more targets than the one play (chuck it deep and hope he runs it down) he seems to have working for him...

I wonder if the Bears will miss this dynamite playmaker....

The reason he doesnt get a ton of targets is because the Vikings don't chuck the ball 40 times a game and when they do throw, its usually to the HB and TE.

As far as the Chicago Bears missing him...10 catches for 200+ yards and 2 tds against them last season.

for a comparison...only one Bears WR eclipsed 100 yards receiving in a game last season. Brandon Lloyd in week 3.

Also to mention that he finished last season as a top 25 WR statwise with half or nearly half the targets as the other 22 WR's ahead of him. I would say he's earning his $$$ with that stat.

where did i play the QB card? That would be silly to bring into the discussion. May as well start talking about coaching too.

I dont think he has to worry about that, look at his stats in 2 seasons with garbage at QB and on the worst team in the league. Given they had to throw alot but still.

Stafford could be that guy but its still pretty early to tell.

I watched quite a bit of CJ is college too with GT, Reggie Ball wasnt a good QB. CJ still turned all those terrible throws into big plays, he made other players look like high school kids.

i dont believe in anyone who doesnt have an oline. Even Peyton Manning looked reckless when he first came into the league because his oline was just god awful...once they surrounded him with a foundation in front of him...its been lights out since. Its just too bad that the Lions haven't figured this out yet...everyone around the league is drafting offensive line and defensive line players early and they just keep adding to their weapons without building a foundation...someday they will get it right...one would think.

I think the amazing part about CJ is that he still looks raw out there...if you can believe that..0_o

There are a lot of plays that he drops the ball on...it seems he makes a lot of difficult plays look easy and a lot of easy plays look difficult...once that all comes together in the NFL...the guy is going to be a freak of nature...and its only a matter of time...

I agree and hes already 75% there. I think hes gonna have an even better season this season or at least duplicate last seasons numbers.

Hes a freak like Moss and i expect the same numbers from him. He doesnt quite have the offense the Vikes had when Moss started, altho Moss pretty much made that offense anyway. If CJ can put up numbers with a garbage QB, i imagine a Brady-Moss experience is possible when he does get a good QB and Oline.
