Only read the first page...

But this could be avoided by allowing people to blank a post.

Not that it would be much of a problem with an edit history, but whatever.

Well Death I know you've been here long enough to read the forum arguments about owners and players not getting along and the arguments over who said what in the forums. Do you really think it is appropriate for one to be able to edit the others thread? To me alot of people on these boards would just use it as another method of antagonising. Look at some of the threads around here where people change eachothers quotes. Seriously do you not see the potential for this to be abused?

But if the owner did edit it out, it would say they did.

If an owner is going to just constantly edit out your posts...quit posting? I mean, the owner can already completely get rid of your ability to post. They can already put their foot down and "antagonize" players...so being able to edit out a post is really irrelevant compared to what they can already do.

Also, if an owner is lame enough to go back and edit out your posts to win the argument, do you really think that argument with him is winnable to begin with?

and finally, if an owner is doing this, he probably wont have a very successful team, because people arent going to want to stay with him

I agree. Owners that do nothing but antagonize their players won't be able to keep the team together.

Didn't say antagonise their players buit use it as a tool to antagonize someone they are arguing with. I don't particularly care for any kind of censorship that is not clearly defined. Removing my posting privileges is fine and pretty clear but changing my wording for any reason is not. My question was and still is do you really not see the potential for this to be abused and misused? If not then there really is no discussion between us because we both know I won't change your mind and you won't change mine.

Oh and on another note if something is inappropriate why not delete the thread and ban the user from tyhe forums? I mean rather than editing one persons side of the argument?

Maybe the rest of the post or thread is a good discussion, and they want to let the discussion continue, but need to remove the inappropriate material.

Ban the user from the forums and submit a support ticket. If the post warrants breaking GLB's rules then they will edit it and take appropriate action against the poster.

So yeah, there isn't really much discussion.

An owner "changing your wording" is fairly irrelevant since it says that the owner did it and not you. If you feel violated by that, then yeah...we may as well not bother having the discussion.
