i think you made a rush decision based purely on emotion. Whenever you are making a decision like this you should take a step back and think about it for a bit first. You will regret this one.

thehazyone is doing his best and is prob getting frustrated himself. You should take that into consideration for his brash replies

UBA, I think you miss the point. I think this has been coming for a long time. Bort has ignored the people who know the most about the playing experience to listen to random whines for too long. If Bort DOESENT feel this way, he needs to do a better job of showing it. I know too many owners who just gave up because NOTHING is EVER the same from season to season.

There are 2 classes of whiners. Ones who know their hindquarters from a gopher hole and those that dont. Owners who got to pro fit into the first category.

I dont know RJ, but I admire his ability to walk away from flex and a powerful team that he obviously put a ton of effort and money into to make a point.

If someone actually told him to quit, he should think twice before using that logic again. this is the third owner I know of that HAS quit after having that thrown at them.

Im thinking a REAL good start to recovery would be for the moderators top stop locking any comments that disagree with Bort decisions just for the seeming purpose of keeping it away from Borts attention.

The sad thing is, it doesn't matter one bit to Bort if the top owners quit, its probably even better for him! Pro Owners are pretty much set in terms of Flex, and aren't purchasing as much, and will be able to ride things out for a while. By having Pro Owners quit, it opens up the pyramid so the lower teams (who are still buying flex points) can move up and feel better about themselves.

RJ was a close and valuable ally to many agents and teams. He was selfless and intense in his desire to make glb better!

So anyone lame enough to think otherwise does not or did not know the same person I knew!

It is a Sad, Sad day when he steps up and makes a stand ("puts his money where his mouth is") and it is turned into a flamewar by people who talk about things of which they know nothing.

The real irony is that we all lose when people like RJ give up on GLB.

He has valid points...

A) The sim is Screwed up
B) Management does not seem to give a shit

RJ's honor was challenged and he did what he considered to be the action that spoke louder than words.

I differ with his course of action, only in, that I think it was more drastic than I am willing to make and may be a folly of youth.
Age brings patience and lowered expectations. I settle for less than perfect and I am willing to accept that this game flawed and I will give it a chance to be rectified.

But the Truth about this game is somewhat undefined, and left to the obvious point of whether anyone other then agents on this sim, learn from the mistakes of the sim, and whether management is willing to address the problems with actual solutions!

Just my two cents
Steve

RJ is in a better place.(seriously, he is)

RJ was a guy whose first priority has always been for a fair, balanced sim. He would have been willing to do whatever it took..no matter how many hours..to help get it right.

I'd have to agree 100% with that, as well...I honestly see this as a loss for GLB. As a whole, GLB is divided mostly into 2 large groups: The Bort Can Do No Wrongs & The Bort Can Do No Rights. I always saw RJ as one of the much, much smaller group located in the middle. That group has no desire to bash the shit out of everything Bort does, but also isn't afraid to point out the flaws in GLB and desperately wants the game to improve. They also won't sit there and apologize for every mistake Bort makes, but do give credit when credit is due. In other words, that group wants to try to help improve the game and has the guts to try suggesting improvement when they can, always at the risk of having both of the infinitely larger groups bash the holy hell out of them for trying.

IMO, we lost one of the good guys today

IMO that group will be gone very soon because that is a group of people that will get sick of constantly doing their best to try and make the sim balanced unlike the louder whiners who want the sim to go their way except the problem is that most of the time, instead of listening to the rational people who want what is best for the game, Bort listens to the irrational whiners with an agenda. I am also feeling less and less attached to this game and if things keep going downhill. I'll go ahead and join the club with RJ.

I better add +15 skill points to confidence because I never heard that.

Not the best sim, and a lot of things are pretty broken...but they always have been.

Did you really need to sell right after the season started? If you were thinking about it for awhile, why not in the offseason? Or at least give it your best and play the season out. Hell...if you're sick of gameplanning, then don't gameplan. At least your team is still here and giving other teams SOMEWHAT of a challenge.

But quitting right after the season starts by selling your team back right away? There's no need for that.

whats the point Sik? does it really matter? its not like Spicewood gutting is going to change the statistics much...

It's fun to have a complete league. This was going to be the first season in a long time where all 32 teams were competitive and gunning for the title. Yet people are quitting 3 games into the season.

I think this is a reflection of the state of the game. In SEAPL couple teams gutted already, same as in APL.

It's completely a reflection of the game. People finally get the parity and then they decide to quit because things just aren't working how they should and it seems like everything that gets done seems to make the game worse. I mean, am I the only one feeling like that?
