jumping helps in all of these diving tackles, int's, deflecting, and possibly more. catching only helps with catching the ball, how could catching be better?
Seriously just use some logic. As someone who's played CB in real life I wonder how exactly does jumping make me that more adept at deflecting passes?
If I can reach a pass when I jump 20 inches high, how is being able to jump higher going to help me deflect a pass I can already reach? Jumping won't help you reach further forward or to the side, that's catching.
Bort has said that when CBs get their PD roll the WR gets an anti-swat roll and that the WR's Jumping Catch SA greatly affects the CBs chances to deflect the pass. If you read the Jumping Catch SA description it says it gives a bonus to catching when jumping, this implies that when a player jumps it's harder to reach the ball and only catching affects that not jumping.Since when does Bort know anything about how football is played?

There are so many things in this game that does not make since at all. I think Bort's football experience consist of bag of nachos and Tecmo Ball, maybe Madden (but judging by the plays he has created, I doubt it).
One of my CB had 6 Ints last season, so I upped his catching from 50 to 60 this season, after 5 games, he has 0. If the sole purpose of catching is to help increase the number of Ints, then it's really a waste after soft cap imo.
I will change my position on this if he averages 1 int per game for the reminder of the season. Until then, I pretty much wasted 20 SPs on him.
