That LB plays for Gridiron - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=262278

I've seen a few that can at least be very close to that.

No doubt, Galk... there should likely be plenty even better than that since he is only level 44 (wow, LOL at lvl 44 now being low-leveled for the league)... I was just goofing around since I had a guy that basically matched exactly what Pierre said he was looking for... plus I was pointing out that Pierre was spot on with his idea of where the bars would be...

NVM, I thought he was saying he didn't think very many existed.

Players built like this rarely, if ever, hit FA.

Exactly. I know they exist, have one on my team, was being sarcastic saying I didn't know if the player existed because I haven't seen one that meets that build in free agency this season. Seen a lot that are close and we have several that are close but none that meet or exceed that were available on the open market.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=619773 - Has been a FA for the past 7 days tbh. Once I boost him for s8 he will look just like Beckett, only better

And yes I agree he is well under-leveled for USA Pro... was only kidding around.

Yeah, I'm glad we already have a few guys with that build and some guys really close to it because FA is getting weak. Hell, we pretty much landed one off of Galkuris, man did he ever talk shit about you after he left Galk Something about you flirting with the team in the forums a bit too much

Galk is just excited he gets to face Gambler again this season.

Maybe, but our DEs are licking their chops, and our new #1 CB as well.

I will say. Anyone we lost, we replaced with someone better.

No offense to the guys above, but I think part of the reason everyone is doing so well is the glut of players on the market this season from all the gutted teams.

I have been turning away level 46 players who I don't have room for. I am sure others are in the same boat.

I agree completely there, but to be honest the vast majority of the players I've found on the market aren't all that great anyway. Also, based on your post above, I don't think we can say we're having our best class yet until they're all signed.

This is one main reason why I haven't recruited at all this off season. I've looked at the available players and outside of a few exceptions I don't see anyone better than what I currently have. For me to recruit someone, I'd have to displace someone on my current roster and outside of my own individual players I'm not going to do that unless there is a huge disparity in talent.

And the few exceptions have 100 teams fighting over them and well, I'm just not the kind to beg and plead for a player anyway. I might shoot them a message of interest but I know most of these types of players are looking for someone who will bow down to them, and that's not really my style.

The ones that I try to avoid especially are the ones with hidden builds that post they have a high level guy in the main PLT forum, not the subforum for their position, and that you notice quietly bump their post if it falls off the first page.

I'd avoid me too.

Other than SI, capones and gart, I don't think many of the CPLOL owners are competition for good recruits...

Capones isn't much competition if you get a few drinks in him.

we had two players sign today and finally finished recruiting. If a bad ass OLB fell in my laps I wouldn't cry but I don't know if the LB I'm wanting even exists so I really doubt that will happen.

He exists, he is just on a different team.

He isn't on Spicewood, just checked.

Ah, didnt know you had X-Ray vision my Chocolate Covered French friend.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=313219

However, Csonka and Bukka will have much fun with that build.

very useful for inter-conference game.

You are putting Bukka on special teams? What a waste.

Scouting bars are a very good indicator of attributes.

The LB I'm looking for has mid 90ish speed, 60+ agility, 60+ vision, 60+strength and 60+ tackling. A player with these stats would have an absolute minimum of 54/54 scouting bars but more than likely would have 57/54 or better.

Once again you open your mouth and show just how little you know. No LB on Spicewood is capable of having this build as indicated by the scouting bars. You can call that x-ray vision if you like, I'll just call it not being a fucking idiot.

My MLB with those atts and low 90s speed has 51/54/54. So Pierre is pretty dead on.

Nice, sucks that he is backup since he has a better build than the starter.

My LB is just there to help them out.

Not pointing a finger, but this attitude is going to hurt this game in the long run. Each player should be out for himself initially and every owner should expect that each player is out for himself regardless of who the agent is. Metagaming is the term for it I think...

No team should have players that could easily start on a team in the same league playing little more than special teams. It just doesn't make sense for those players, even though the agent might like it for whatever reason. Personally I find it difficult to pay money for a player who is barely going to play.

Huh?

If somebody wants to pay money for something, they can pretty much use it how they want...

If the team rotates the player often enough, then why shouldn't the player want to play where he can win?

The reason professional football works the way it does though is competition between players. If their agents' motivations were the players' motivations it would be structured more like GLB. In GLB the agent can be a big part of the team even while their player sits on the bench, which makes the player market a lot different than in real professional sports. In the NFL, if you sit on the bench and see a starting job that you are more than qualified for, you try to get it and your agent be damned if he tries to stop you.

Not really getting into 'shoulds', but being the waterboy on a winning team is not the same as being even a mediocre player on a team that actually utilizes his abilities for something other than hydrating his teammates.
