The only prob is, when it rains, you see teams almost exclusively run. What if I upload a pass heavy AI and it rains? Less effective offense. Only way it could happen fairly is have it part of the matchup.

don't like the idea. bort has more pressing issues that he should worry about before putting "weather" into this game. maybe down the road once everything is fixed, sure
Uhhh, Weather is a HUGE thing in football.
and? the actual play of football, not the weather, matters more. go to the bugs section and read through all of that. i'd say at least 75% of that stuff is more important than weather.
Well then! Let's just close down Suggestions all together till every bug is fixed.
No one said these ideas were getting implemented in the near future or at all. It's just so Bort can see some of them which are pretty good ideas.
good point good point. i just have certain fears about the definition of this epic stuff.

Couple of observations:
*You would need a weather forecast set at least 24 hrs/game, so that Owners/GM's can adjust tactics (run more, pass less,...)
*If you do play in rain or snow, most teams would run more, throw shorter passes,... Skills like agility and speed should be less effective, and strength and blocking should be more effective.
*Adjust weather to region specific. Canada, USA,... have snow. SA, Asia,... more rain.
*Kinda out there, but wouldn't it be cool for each owner to pinpoint each teams home location (gotta be located in corresponding region), and tie in actual weather trends, maybe even actual weather forecasts to gameplay. Sounds like it would be brutally hard to implement, but would be cool.

Having played on a turf field and a grass field, unless we are talking about 1970's astroturf style turf, Not the new field turf, Then it is actually LESS likely to get an injury on a turf field. There is no chance the sod will come up, less sprained ankles, ect.

I can't say I'm a big fan of adding weather into the mix just yet.... (then they'd have to add upgrades to stadiums such as retractable roofs, different stadium styles,ect...) Maybe in upcoming seasons, but not right now.

Copying my own post from suggestion forum (not realizing this was already in epic)... I realize I'm pretty much repeating a lot of what's been said here, but just adding an independent thought to the mix. The fact there's so much overlap indicates it's probably a pretty decent concept if multiple people are coming up with it.

Have a weather forecast before each game. Teams could make adjustments to their run/pass/kick balance accordingly.
A particularly windy game would affect kicking/throwing distance/accuracy. A rainy or snowy game would nerf everyone's agility up to 5 or even 10 points (depending on severity of the weather... a light rain might only be 2 points, etc.). A really hot game would deplete everyone's energy faster. And so on.
I guess to be fair it would have to be completely random for every game... or you could allow teams to choose the weather of their home area, such that it was still random, but that the "average" for a given game was somewhat determined by the home field setting. Weather could also progressively get colder/worse during season on average, just like NFL season. Theoretically you could also incorporate this into allowing teams $$$ or Flex to relocate to a city in a different climate, or allow teams to build a dome, etc. between seasons.
I don't see this as being some huge factor, but just something that adds a bit of flavor and a bit of strategy and keeps things a bit more interesting to break the monotony of games from one week to the next.

I like this idea. For teams that would rather play in a dome, Bort can implement a price for a stadium upgrade regarding building a dome. He can also add onto building turf to give teams an advantage for that. This Idea can lead to a lot of things.

opens u up for a new vet ability too....
Weatherbeater for each point spent in WB u have a 5% chance to overcome the penalties for playing in unseemly weather conditions.
This would represent a vets time spent playing in all types of weather and his ability to ignore said conditions.
The numbers don't have to be exact but sumthing along those lines.
