Their toughest two game stretch was Texas then Kansas? I'm surprised you guys lost a game at all with the way that schedule fell this season.

I will always be more impressed with the way Texas played in 2008 than any other team. No team could have done what they did with that brutal schedule. Two of the main reasons why are Mack Brown (deserving of Coach of the Year) and McCoy (deserving of the Heisman).

I find it hilarious that the Big 12 gave Stoops Coach of the Year in a season when he didn't even beat his main rival. I can understand giving it to Leach. He actually deserves it.

You should have been able to win all the games in that 4 game stretch because the 5 teams you played before it, all sucked ass! Just like a Texas fan to make more excuses on why they lost a game. "They ran out of gas," what a joke. Win all your games and you're in the Big 12 Championship, it's that simple. If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourselves.

Why should McCoy win the Heisman over Bradford? Bradford has more passing yards, more passing TD's, and more total TD's. The only thing McCoy has over Bradford is completion percentage (77.5% compared to 68.2%).

McCoy's mobility and completion percentage are astronomically better then Bradford's.

Doesnt matter really. Florida will stomp the shit out of any of them.

Without Percy (11+ Yards per Play) they won't be as potent. I agree that they are one of the top two teams in the nation though. Kirby Smart and Kevin Steele are gonna lose some sleep preparing for that O.

Percy will play in the NC so it doesn't really matter. Alabama has little shot at knocking them off w/ or w/o Harvin.

Yeah I don't think anyone is giving Bama a shot unless Florida turns it over like they did against Ole Miss.

I guess you didn't understand my point. I knew you would bring up the weak OOC argument eventually though. Regardless, not every team can be lucky enough to get a bye game every other week for an entire season. I'm not making excuses for my team. I think they played as well as they could have with that schedule and I'm proud of them. I was merely stating facts.

jf pretty much summed it up on the McCoy/Bradford debate.

Alabama is a good team but Florida is just on a roll right now. If this was in Alabama, I would say Alabama might pull it out but neutral field, this is going to swing florida's way.

Even without Percy, we can take them and it's still possible he plays. I think Urban either knows he is or knows he isn't and just wants Bama to not know.

There's no doubt that McCoy is a more mobile QB than Bradford. But why would Bradford have to worry about scrambling when he has significantly better protection, patience, arm strength, and accuracy than McCoy. But that will be more obvious when the draft comes around and Bradford is a top 5 pick while McCoy goes in the 4th round, if he's lucky. And both of their completion percentages are outstanding (McCoy is 1st in the nation and Bradford is 8th). I don't think a 9.3% difference in completion percentage is "astronomically better". But if that is the case, you must think Bradford's 190.97 QB rating is really out of this world compared to McCoy's 179.20.

So McCoy has a MUCH higher completion percentage (yes 9.3% is a lot), yet you claim that he isn't as accurate as Bradford. Am I missing something here? Last time I checked completion percentage had a great deal of importance in determining how accurate a QB is. I'll give you that Bradford has more patience and protection, but when you can't run like him then you have no choice but to be patient, throw it away, or take the sack. Arm strength....no. If anything that's a dead heat.

Who cares about the draft? We're talking about the better college QB. Besides, when was the last time that a top 5 QB actually performed like one?

McCoy won't be a 4th round pick, he'll likely be a first round pick and Bradford will be a top 10 pick...however I think McCoy will be the better Pro.

McCoy's completion percentage is out of this world, no doubt, but his passing attack is significantly different then Bradford's.

Bradford YPA: 10.38
McCoy YPA: 9.18

Bradford YPC: 15.22
McCoy YPC: 11.83

With those stats taken into account, you can clearly see that McCoy's offense is designed to take advantage of his decision making and scrambling ability where as Bradford's offense is designed to highlight his arm strength (very good but not great) and downfield accuracy (fantastic).

McCoy is clearly a better scrambler and runner than Bradford, but don't discount Bradford's mobility. The kid is a fantastic athlete and has shown he can make a play with his feet when necessary.

Bottom line, when you're debating between McCoy and Bradford you aren't choosing which one is good and which one sucks, you're choosing which one you prefer over the other. Both are fantastic college QBs and both will play on Sundays, it's just a matter of personal preference.

I think the real debate is "Which one looks more like a chipmunk"? In which case, the answer is obvious.

Good points. I agree with most of it.

I just hope McCoy gets recognized for the way he has carried himself and the team this season. Without him there's no way Texas would be where they are right now.

McCoy would likely be a 3rd or beyond pick. He would at most be a 3rd string QB. He is not considered very desirable by the NFL (he doesn't fit the prototype for an NFL QB). He's undersized and tends to make mistakes when pressured. While his scrambling ability is nice, it's not what most NFL teams are really looking for.

Honestly, there is no real way to tell if a QB will do anything at the Pro level. Some excel, most are doomed to failure. It's the hardest position to "instantly" be a huge factor as an NFL rookie.

If Bradford decided to enter the draft early (which would be a mistake, imho), he likely would be a top-5 pick and the first QB drafted. Most NFL scouts are drooling over the ability of Bradford to see the field (I guess he put SP into vision) and make smart decisions. The completion thing hasn't been all Sam's fault. He has had some receivers drop numerous throws right into the breadbasket. Plus being smart...He is willing to throw the ball away (out of bounds to avoid a loss) when it's the smart thing to do. He rarely puts the ball where it shouldn't be. Hence, the low INT totals.

Try to use the brain bytes and not the ignorance bytes. I know you have more of the bad ones than the good ones jrry. (BTW: did you miss the "e" in jerry when you made your account?)
