my suggestion in the survey was to not let ANY new teams into the game until there were enough human agents to fill them

See, here's the problem though...

We are happy with a 20 man roster limit. Unless something has changed...

15 would not work. The sim has a hard coded minimum of 20 players on a side because otherwise there can be issues with filling out a formation. If 20 works, however, and there is a lot of interest, I wouldn't be against the idea.

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for changes OR workarounds.
So what we wonder... what we've been wondering... does Bort know we're fine with 20? Cause it doesn't seem like it.

And the doubt about the mods comes from this...

I'm unsure if its been brought up again or not.
Still waiting to hear back on ~8 issues atm. Will try to get that answered the next time we see Bort.
Unless I've really missed it, Knick has not come back into the thread since.
And the next we hear about the idea is about needing changes or workarounds, which would suggest that Bort still thinks we absolutely need 15 player roster limits.

Not at the moment. My main concern with them is that they may serve to cause even more small communities, and remove the larger community aspect from the game. I'd like to focus the time and attention more on trying to improve the existing community aspects first, and possibly try and renew some of the rivalry aspects of the earlier game.
Which, while dealing with a different suggestion, still applies. He is focusing on the existing sim, not the subgroups who want their own changed version of the game, with their own set of leagues apart from the existing one. Problems WILL arise from making any new league set, and the focus is fixing/improving the mainline sim right now, not the subdivisions.
Oh, and Knick hasn't come back to the thread because Bort hasn't come back to our forum.

I completely understand Bort's rationale for wanting to focus on the sim first before implementing new leagues. However, all the average player sees is patch after patch going in over the existing sim, which tends to cause more chaos and confusion than the previous round of "fixes". I admittedly have not been around nearly as long as a lot of the guys here, but the song and dance involved with fixing the sim even has me worn out. I really think Bort needs to reconsider his stance on this because a lot of good agents need something new to sink their teeth into for them to stick around.

From the Jan 25th Q&A session...

Technical limitations, more than the idea itself. The sim has a minimum of 20 players on the team at sim time to ensure all positions can be filled in any given play.
We aren't demanding immediate action or anything. And I have nothing against you guys (mods) especially since you're volunteers who seem to be doing the best job you can.
We'd just really like to know that Bort knows that 20 is, and has been, fine by us. If he was wrong before and 20 is a problem too, then we'd like to know that.
The history of this game strongly suggests that Bort will take the occasional break from working on the sim to implement smaller suggestions. All we're asking is to be considered as one of those little side projects, which is why we've paired down this idea to make it as easy to implement as possible.

They better, or this idea could take off on it's own server, man you better patent this idea for real!

This sums up my thoughts (and my frustrations) exactly ... The blanket statement that Catch/Hazy made about this idea in the Jan. 25 Q&A seemed to reflect the idea as it existed about 50 pages or several months ago.
I am not saying GLB should act on this idea immediately. I would just like an update on the status -- is it still unworkable even with a 20-man limit? Are there other reasons or limitations that prevent this from happening?
This idea was thrown from Epic back into the main forum, which is fine and I understood the reasoning behind it. But that reasoning also left the door open that this was still an idea under consideration. It still seems to have strong support and interest from a segment of the GLB community.
But getting a straight answer on the question of the 20-man roster limit, and the current status of the possibility of this ever happening at all, has been like trying to nail jello to a wall.

As an observer, I would recommend that you don't hold your breath for any additional word on this from bort for quite a long time. The sim and player creation models are undergoing substantial changes, and he is pretty swamped.

I thought I made it pretty clear in my previous posts that, after yet another season went by with no update, I've pretty much given up expecting to ever hear anything about this.
When I do get any answer from a mod or admin, it is always that A) Bort is too swamped with other things to answer any questions or B) Bort is MIA and isn't answering any questions.
I'm not sure why we even have a suggestions forum, tbh, unless the goal is to frustrate the hell out of the user base who take the time to post thoughtful suggestions on how to improve the product.
