I'm going through the same thing on 2 teams I just signed my new player to. I hate low forum activity. For some reason our team isn't having great activity now either, everyone says it's because there is less to talk about when you are winning.

It is impossible to have a ton of activity on team forums that isn't driven by the owner himself. GLB allows us to make to many players people can't and don't bother to pay attention to anything past their own stats let alone 10+ different team forums. My team has mild activity on our forums and all that is left is a check in for our game planning on game days. I blame the way GLB is set up for this. I feel we can make to many players and it is helping ruin this game, one man teams make the most sense and the trend is leaning that way. one man teams nad very small groups or guild type people, 2 or 3 agents filling a whole team. The stupid sportsmanship bonus isn't gonna stop it.

agreed.

I have 9 players on 4 different teams then I GM for another and I like to try to be active in all of the forums, but in 2 or 3 of them no one else ever says anything. It's crazy. Also, on the Bearhins we have about 5 or 6 guys who ONLY have players on our team, yet still never says anything in the forums. I hate it. I try to do things to raise activity (MVP voting, games, locker rooms, etc) yet nothing seems to work.

I think when the game started out there was a lot to learn so there was more involvement, now at least in our league, the players know what is going on and unless there is something out of the normal you do not get much input. I noticed the decline last season and this season it has grown. Also of course you have more outside interest right now between the Olympics, baseball getting ready for playoffs, football starting and of course college both games and school starting, and Madden just came out too.
I would expect early to mid September for the activity to start back up again. Except for the sad folks who are on here all the time
And yeah, the team owners and GMs are the ones who for the most part stir the pot in forums. And yeah, once players get their build like they want there really is not much for them to do or be a part of. And it is a damned if you do, damned if you don't for the amount of players per owner. You can try to build a team of one player per owner but you then run the risk of inactive or 'My friend has a team now I want to join them' players and you can lose 1/2-1/4 of your team this way a season. With nothing you can do to make players want to stay there is not much an owner can do to stop this. So you are almost forced to go for solid owners with multiple players to keep a team active and together which then of course is less input so lower forum activity... and round and round it goes.

Well I wouldn't start up a team with 2 or 3 different agents to fill a whole team if I didn't personally know then outside of GLB.

I see the game is heading towards a bad place in the current state when it comes to allowing people to make unlimited players. The only way to make a player mean something is to not allow that. I don't know what a good number of players to allow be made would be, that is for the admins to decide. I do feel making that number 5 or 8 would make those players more valuable. You got guys with over 40 players. Even if they are on the same team fine but some poeple have that many players spread out among as many teams. There is no way they make a contribution other than a body to those teams.

I have a great team in my opinion in that they are all active when it counts. I don't recruit people with a ton of player or ones that don't have CE or don't boost. Those factors tell me they will care about their players and the team they put them on.

I don't see the big deal about having a ton of players. Your paying real money if you want to create multiple players per position they more power to you. Also, I noticed this is still a beta game. I'm sure a bunch of the stuff i've read about they are having talks about and have several ideas on how to fix em. The thing that pisses me off is trying to fix a gutted team. Dear GOD I must have sent out contract offers to 50 or 60 OT's and i signed 2!!!! I'd like the ability to counter offer when a contract is declined, i don't know man, it just is way to hard to fill out a roster in my opinion

agreed, It is even hard for us team who have been known to win, can't imagine how hard it is for a team on a 30+ game losing streak.

IF you pulled in 2 out of 50 you have a pretty damn good recruiting technique lol. The Crow have sent out over 200 offers and only signed 2 players that did not know me prior to signing. I see alot of you guys feel the same way I do. The Beach Boys have the most active forum Ive seen and I think we just got lucky. The guys I recruited when we started the team where all really good guys and we have basically the same roster but we have added 1 or 2 players each season who are also active. My other teams are in the middle as far as activity no matter what I try to do. And the Crow....Christ I get 2 guys who post and thats it, Im having real problems with that mess and its like no matter what I do I cant get a player to sign. I think the key is to have good agents with 3-4 guys on the team that way you can fill your team with 10-13 guys and keep them all active and interested. What I was thinking was if one of us had a team that we were willing to start over, we should get the active guys from this league and join forces on a team. I think GLB is in for a rude awakening as the site is growing out of control and thinning out the quality in favor of quantity. If we got the guys like Bearphin, Bullfrog, Salizy, myself, Austin, Whisper, Lgonzo, Richone, and any other quality management types together I think we could build a great team that would be able to win championships as long as we stick together. Now obviously the problem is that the team would have to be in a league outside of this one, and we would need one of us to have a team that was struggling or new so that we could all join and not have to worry about a roster being in place prior to us joining, also I dont even know if you guys would want to do that. I want to win, Im a competetive person and I want to build a team that can go to the Pros legitimately, stick together, be active, and kick ass.

This is definitely a nice thought. The time for something like that is probably sooner rather than later, although I am not willing to put more money into the game as of yet. Only way I could feasably "start over" would be to retire all my players. That kinda bothers me because I wouldn't mind seeing how it plays out the way it is now for my team. Our team has already discussed how we are gonna replenish our talent and the best method to build players to do that.

I am very open to this idea though.
