When you have 3 people with the same record, and each has a loss to one of the other team (1 loss 2, 2 loss 3, 3 loss 1 ect), then it goes to total points scored. That is how you were above the topes.

I didn't pay much attn as we were out the playoffs anyway...
BUT THIS YEAR.... GEAUX TIGERS!!!
If 2 teams have the same record it goes on head to head between those teams.
If more than 2 teams have the same record it goes on head to head between those teams, but if it is even (e.g. Skins beat Topes, Beavers beat Skins and Topes beat Beavers) then it goes on points scored in the season (not points scored in the Head to head games as I found out last season!).
Does win streak come into play?
lol no just points scored over the season.
I said it last season but i think the points scored tie breaker should be points scored in the games between the tied teams, rather than season points. Seams a fairer tie breaker to me. Although in saying that, if the tie breaker was between us, you and the topes we would be 3rd
Scrap that silly idea....

Week 12-13 Roundup
1: Minnesota Skulls (12-1)
Still #1 eh? Well the Isotopes game earlier in the year was a shock but the final position of the Skulls definitely isn't. It seems over the last 2 weeks that Rock Slinger has been going out of his way to put up the biggest numbers he can. 91 pass attempts vs the Extreme yielded 8 TDs and he got 12 the next game vs. the Vikings. He leads the league by miles in any category and his 3 primary targets are well ahead in the TD catches table. Next 3 games will be tougher, but Skulls should win out to claim the #1 seed and a game against the Wedgies
2: Birmingham Beavers (12-1)
I said of the Beavers at the start of the season "Greatness is close but they're not there yet" well, I think they are now. Having reached week 14 in the season with only 1 loss, and that being to the Skulls I think they've arrived. The game against Flathead was a gimme and they comfortably dealt with the Aces, now the big one is upon them... If they beat the Rahls and the Tigers in successive weeks then they must be confident of their chances, having secured the #2 spot and beaten their playoff opponent so close to the end of the season. (not counting the Hammerheads out here, but the Beavers will prevail). A loss to the Rahls wouldn't be the end of the season either, it's 2 or 3 for the Beavers now and I think the only difference between the 2 is bragging rights and route to the playoff final as the top 3 should comfortably make round 2.
3: San Antonio Rahls (12-1)
What I said about the Beavers... repeated...
Just kidding... They had a tougher couple of weeks than the Beavers, playing an improving Breakers team and the Isotopes. I have to pick them as my favourites for the #2 seed though... They just have the edge over the Beavers in strength and past results... This has been a season of vast improvement for the Beavers though and I wouldn't be too shocked to see it go the other way. It's the leagues top rusher Smithers vs. the leagues top rushing attack and rush d, the Rahls... The Beavers are no slouches though having the 3rd best run D. This game could rest on the shoulders of Ashlee Corinna or Para b00n. (Disappointed that FF still hasn't hit 1000 yards... Rone is teasing me but not giving him the rock)
4: Fort Richardson Redskins (11-2)
Could this be the FRR year? The Western champ always seems to come out of no-where (Red Raiders, Boys) and leave the stunned Skulls and Rahls in BBB#5. They have no real games of note to discuss from the last couple of weeks or coming, except the Skulls game. The Redskins securely have the #4 seed... I can't see them moving from it. They lose out on head to head to the Beavers or Rahls and win vs. the Topes... and there won't be a multi-team tie on our hands... Redskins better start working on their stratgey for when the Topes come back to town, playoff week 1.
5: Amarillo Isotopes (10-3)
Having said that about the Redskins... Haven't the #5 seed always beaten the #4 in round 1? I can't quite recall... And we know the Topes have the power of upset... I can't remember how the draw works, but if they get a shot at the Skulls... you gotta fancy their chances... It's just getting that shot that could be the challenge. Rohn Jiggins is such a huge name for the Isotopes that I've only just discovered the names of their QBs... Anyone else heard of Johnny Firestorm before? I'm sure I will have by the end of the week.
6: Las Vegas Aces (9-4)
Realistically... The Tigers can't catch the Aces... and even if they do, they lose in head to head. Aces can't leapfrog Isotopes as worst possible result for Amarillo is 11-5 realistically and the Aces would need to upset the Rahls to get the 5th seed. So anyway, they're safe in #6 which means that they will be watching the Rahls-Beavers game with great interest this week as they will face the losing side in round 1. The Aces are strong... but to win the playoffs and get promoted is a tall order... Weren't South Bend #6 though?
7: Raleigh Fighting Tigers (9-4)
The Tigers knew realistically at the start of the season that they had to beat the Wedgies or the Gunslingers to make the playoffs, and with the Catfish week 16, even that might not be a enough to get in... So beating the Wedgies 2 weeks ago to add to the Gunslingers win, was huge. The Tigers have never beaten either side before and have shown their improvement through these wins. 13-7 against the Breakers was less than inspiring though so will have to do something drastic to upset the #2 seed.
8: Atomic Wedgies (6-7)
Although they are all rated at 39, the Wedgies have the edge on all their next 3 opponents in terms of skill and experience. I expect nothing less than the playoffs for a team that took the #6 Aces to within a point. The Tigers already have 9 wins so they can't take #7, but if they win out, they fend of the Gunslingers who still have to face the Skulls... Well the Wedgies get the exciting prospect of an away game to the Skulls round 1... can they continue the Minnesota Misery in the post-season?
9: San Antonio Gunslingers (6-7)
They outlevelled the Tigers, Aces and Wedgies at the start of the year and could be comfortably sat in the playoffs right now. As it is, they need a lot of outside help and good performances to make it... They may as well start experimenting now to find out what works for them for next season... Another disappointing year.
10: Ditka's Army (5-8)
They started the season out-levelled by 12 teams. They are now sat in 10th! I think they are done winning for this season, but they would have gladly taken 5 wins at the start of the year... Technically the Wedgies aren't out of their reach... but I don't think they'll pull it off. With promotion and relegation... We'll be losing a strong team and prob getting a tomato can... That will propel the Army even closer to playoff contention... Good job Bajek.
11: Austin Extreme (4-9)
The Extreme could win 2 more games and snatch 10th spot this season... Not bad for a debut season in BBB#5, but I don't think they would have expected it to be so tough having dropped here from the A-Leagues... (do any of the Extreme check the BBB#5 forum?)
12: Miami Breakers (3-10)
Definitely a team on the up... Not sure how they only have 3 wins this season though. I think they've recruited as their team is looking more complete now. They were close to the Rahls and Tigers last couple of games... I think next year the Breakers could put the hurt on the 11-16 teams of the West and challenge the teams 6-10... We'll see, but it's def. possible...
13: Java Monkeys (2-11)
Weasel was left with nothing when PECOTA folded... He's done well just to fill out a roster with humans and grab a couple of wins on the way. They're level with Wedgies and Breakers on 39 at the moment but I don't think they'll win either one, but will pick up win 3 in the Inter-conference games.
14: Saint Louis Lowriders (2-11)
Well their QB has left them and now Derric Niles needs to rely on a lvl 8 to get him the ball. It's going to be a tough final 3 weeks... ACES needs to start recruiting now to improve next year... Or even just compete with other teams in the bottom 8.
15: Death Valley Vikings (1-12)
They'll beat Flathead to finish the season with 2 wins... More important than that though is re-signing Dawg Schroeder and then recruiting a supporting cast for him to give the Vikings a fighting chance next season. They need an offence beyond Jason Mathew... another possible exit... They need to re-sign these corner-stones of the team and then recruit further based on having them in place and apirations for next season rather than performance this season
16: Flathead Just Go Krazy (0-13)
They did the sensible thing and signed low-level players and saved cash in what was going to be a tough first season anyway. They keep talking about next season though... So lets see it... Waiting on next season now.
Peace. Love. Conserve Water. Stay in School.

These are a lot more fun to read after a good win.
Good work Ethaan, it is still good to look at the analysis and time that you put into this.

always love reading the write ups Elthaan, especially when its opinions on my Beavers, great work.
My Beavers have had our best season yet and even if we lose our last 3 games (which is very possible) we will still only finish 12-4, which would equal our best ever season. It would be nice to get through one game of the playoffs this season as we managed to get the BYB last season, who as we know went on to win it all and are storming the league above us!!
This league is so tough though when it comes to the top 7 or 8 teams so whoever makes the playoffs has a shot at winning it. We have had some really tough matchups in our last 7 games, playing teams like the Gunslingers, Skins, Wedgies, Topes, Aces in that time. Just when you think you are through it you find you have to play the Rahls!!!
Should be another real battle.
Topes vs the Tigers should be another really interesting matchup. Good luck to all.

Aye, great game. We made it through one hell of a second half schedule. Of course we are not overlooking the Aces or the Flashpoint... I love this league.

ACES is owner of St. Louis... Nice coincidence though.
Especially as the Aces were the Tigers first ever game... We haven't beaten you yet though.
Can NO-ONE spell my name right? Or have you all secretly decided to do it on purpose?
