Mike, are you building your OT and G to specifically offset speed rushers or just going with the basic str and blocking? Just curious, don't see it very often when someone has a lot of success at one position trying to build a guy to counter that.

Not exactly. My OT could definitely stop my DE at this point, and by the end of the season he'll be able to completely shut him down.

I think I'mma go with speed

Thanks, although it was against a lower level OT. Can't read too much into it.

It was the first game that the new tactics settings looked like they were implemented though.

Shit not that much lower. I will read into it.

This is still one of the better RE builds, my guy isn't made as well as Julius Dee, but its pretty similiar and is doing very well, I DID test with all EQ on agility rather than speed, and it did not work as well, the speed is really needed to get to the QB BEFORE he checks down or throws the ball up.

I do feel with the new pass rush styles, that shed block SA might be alot of wasted points though and is more useful to the high str/agility guys, and not so much to us speed guys.

Wow, less than 30 strength? That kinda makes me want to puke knowing that to be a dominant, elusive pass-rusher I would have had to be as weak as a DB. Logic, thou art damned. And I've been wondering why my 61-agility, 58-strength build sucked so bad. Being balanced in this game is a joke.

There's nothing wrong with making a pass-specialist.

sub-30 strength is a liability on rushing plays (since the DE will almost ways try to engage the OT to shed, instead of going around), but as a pass-specialist what is wrong with it? There are plenty of players in the NFL that are taken out on rushing plays specifically because they'll get knocked to the ground too easy. Not every player is an every-downs defensive end in the NFL. Making a guy that is highly effective at rushing the passer is no different than making a guy that is highly effective at stopping the run. Just a different focus.

Hahahahaha. Typical response, when people are unable to counter your points, in any type of meaningful way. "I'm taking my ball and going home".

What's that period doing outside the quote? *GASP* A grammatical error by Admiral Comma Splice. Bravo!

It seems the point eludes you.

Nightmaresabin,

I didn't say this game has to resemble the NFL, but it should resemble football (you know since that is what it's supposed to simulate). Putting an OT as kick returner, isn't a very good idea. Sure it is possible and all. Although it's not effective, which is why it doesn't happen regularly. Now if I put an Ot as kick returner in GLB and he had 3 kick return touchdowns and a 35 YPR average, that would be something like a DE whose built like a DB getting 40+ sacks in a season (especially when other realistic builds can barely manage a sack or two in a season).

I guess you have to suspend logic to enjoy GLB.

merk,

It's the NFL, not pro wrestling... they don't exaggerate the height and weight.

Funny you mention it...

<3 Agility...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=786231

So far my DE has 2 sacks and 1 hurry playing on a gutted team in a very good league.

vs Lvl 25 LT before soft capping agility http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=89411&pbp_id=2322375

and yesterday vs a Lvl 28 after the soft cap http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=89411&pbp_id=2322375

Eventually, I plan on becoming my GM'd team's blitzing ROLB. Have any speed DE's had success in this role?
