IMO... It wasn't that the builds were maximum math EL good, it's that he had unlimited access to the test server, and all the inside information about SAs VAs and whatever else. He pretty much single handedly decided the Confidence/Pressure/INT curve for QBs.

At the time, the dots always out performed what their EL should have done.

I remember that second part with the test server which gave him the ability to set every player's attributes to see how every mechanic worked in the game against any setting. That level of ability made him playing the game unfair to everyone else especially an undercover multi which was still against the rules even back then

Jdbolick was convinced that the math on Cernet's builds wasn't attainable. I was in several private forums back when that took place.

Oh, interesting. I had never heard that (but I believe you).

I was fairly active at that time but it was a long time ago. But I remember it being more of a scandal just because he shouldn't have had a secret account where he had an unfair advantage, and less that he successfully impacted the balance of the game.

But either way, all cheating shouldn't happen, so I'm glad we can put this behind us.

People who were way too good turns out were cheating. Partly due to a bug with double equipment but likely other things as well.

This could have been prevented had Bort/DD fixed known bugs.
