I wish people talked about pickup games more...though I guess with the test server running a dozen games a day, and being able to send a scrim any time, that feature wasn't that useful.

One of the features I'm actually pretty stoked about.

That is a blocking FB though. Something that isn't very speedy nor move a lot. I could play a blocking FB all day in GLB1 and not use him on ST's and he would play just fine. Actually in the modern era of GLB many people do play one blocking FB almost every snap plus ST's tbh.

Wouldn't work the same at WR for me though.

I was running a lot of those early builds with 1 Stamina though.

I found that abilities like Showboat and Prime Time can repair a lot of the low "heart" builds. Energy replenishes decently between plays, it is really the expenditure rate that becomes an issue for low conditioning builds. For a running team, you really only need your bots to fire at the start of the play, after that only your downfield blockers and your HB need anything in the tank.

Finishing up a few things in code, and Bort is setting up new servers today I think.

It better be soon, or I'll pay Dub J's ticket to fly to Portland. He'll be there to chew bubble gum, and kick ass...and he'll be all out of bubble gum!

A change discussed that we actually never implemented, was having exponential energy replenishment between plays rather than linear.

Like, instead of every play giving you 10, the first would give you 2, then 4, then 6, then 8, 10, 12, 14 etc

Yes and no. I liked seeing my bots play each other, but I'd like to see an addition to the pick-up games option where you could wait for a game to be X% full before it would sim or that you could identify a specific game where you could get people to join. Instead they just simmed at intervals and would have 95% CPU players.

Also the forced CPU tactics and the inability to control how your bot would be used sucked. Would be nice to have a pick-up game tactics option where you could sim in any game, or wait for a "power run first" tactics sim to be coming up.

If you had more control over the # of plays you sat a player when they were low (as an owner or OC) that would help.

Part of the problem is you get these players who build high conditioning bots to get snaps while your other player rides the pine.

I like it, just needs to be considered from implementation perspective.

Well yeah, but that was the test server with two people logged in at any given time, with nobody wanting to actually run pickup games because their players were already running a dozen games a day and could have their full team scrim someone else.

It's mostly for player agents. I could log on at midnight, watch my game from that day, spend my skill points, then immediately watch another game after the changes.

That situation never really happened on the test server, and if it did you just sent a free scrimmage game to someone to accomplish the same thing, usually faster.

Also would be great to see these every once in awhile as a "party" game, where the rules change. The pick-up game had no meaning, so you can play around with these. Different arenas (wind, etc.), different surfaces (from normal grass/turf types to the harsh like dirt or hard to run in sand/snow). Gravity changes? Why not? It is a pick-up game.

These should be lolscrim options to make the lolscrims more fun, or they can be added to some pick-up games (that have no point besides seeing your bots run).

its neat and all. Fantastic way to get to see your player play. Especially adding attributes or abilities to your guy and wanting to see them in action ASAP. Not really much to say about it though other than that.

Again, the fact that you had no control over what you would play or the tactics made a lot of this less worthwhile. I did the same thing to try out new changes, but because they ended up playing STs and in a zone D, my changes to a blitzer or a man D player weren't confirmed at all.

I know, there's not much to discuss with it, but I think it's a really cool feature for the average user. Makes it way more interesting for people...can actually see their player play when they want.

BTW:

Corndog is talking about the Shirts vs. Skins Pick-up games you can instantly add your player to for those on the outside.

I'm looking forward to my low contract C play.
