NOVUS RANKINGS - AFTER 11 GAMES

01) Oseberg Vikings {CANADA} (11-0) (10-0 in-conference)
Clinched a playoff spot and took care of business against Cobden, never letting the Muskrats come anywhere near an upset. But the Dallas Paladins should prove a bit tougher of a foe next.

02) Palm Bay Palookas {USA} (11-0) (10-0 in-conference)
They've clinched a playoff spot, but now comes the hard part: Palm Bay faces 4 playoff contenders in the next 5 games, starting with KC Metro first. Can the Palookas handle the pressure? I think so, but it won't be easy.

03) Burnside Bandits {CANADA} (10-1) (10-0 in-conference)
Drunk was no problem, but The Real McCoys might be with their great roster. This should be a great game to watch.

04) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies {CANADA} (9-2) (8-2 in-conference)
Returned to form with a dominating win over Puffington, and has a gimme with Grande next. The Duckies have a fairly easy slate of games to close out the season, and they could still finish #1 if things play out just right.

05) Cincinnati Shockers {USA} (10-1) (10-0 in-conference)
Down 10 with 11:14 to play, Cincy caught fire in the final quarter and took the lead for good with 0:53 left, holding off the Royal Men. Cincy may very well be the best team in USA Pro, and they should be able to handle the upset-minded Patriots next.

06) Choppin Broccoli {USA} (9-2) (8-2 in-conference)
Choppin has looked strong all season, but blowing a 4th quarter lead to KC never looks good. Southern will be a guaranteed 10th win for them next, but then Choppin closes out their schedule with 4 straight playoff contenders, and as shaky as their D has been, they'll need to hope their O can provide enough points to win out.

07) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys {CANADA} (9-2) (8-2 in-conference)
Beat Victoria in a game that wasn't as close as the score suggests. Burnside will be a much tougher opponent, but the McCoys have a solid roster and might be capable of an upset.

08) All The King's Royal Men {USA} (8-3) (8-2 in-conference)
Gave Cincy all they had, and came out looking pretty good. The Royal Men are peaking at the right time, and nobody wants a piece of them right now. Alas, College Station has no choice in the matter.

09) Dallas Paladins {CANADA} (8-3) (7-3 in-conference)
Handled BC with ease, but now faces a showdown with Oseberg. Even if they lose, though, Dallas's remaining schedule looks favorable if Dallas takes care of business.

10) Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys {USA} (10-1) (9-1 in-conference)
Austin may have the hardest remaining schedule in USA Pro, but they took care of business against College Station and should be able to handle Orlando. Then again, Orlando is fighting for their playoff lives and has gotten hot lately, so this might not be easy.

11) KC's Metro Choppers {USA} (8-3) (7-3 in-conference)
Down by 7 early in the fourth quarter, KC chipped away at the Broccoli and seized the win with just 0:29 left. The Choppers needed that one to boost their confidence, and they have just one more tough game left: their next one with Palm Bay. After that, KC closes out their schedule with 4 relatively easy games and should be able to get a good playoff seed.

12) Puffington Magic Dragons {CANADA} (9-2) (8-2 in-conference)
Got crushed by the Duckies, and now faces a hungry and pesky Cobden team fighting for the last playoff spot. Puffington's remaining schedule looks rough, so they need to step it up now or risk a low playoff seed.

13) Orlando Midget Mafia {USA} (6-5) (6-4 in-conference)
Orlando trounced the Aces and has the inside track to the 8th playoff seed, but an upset win over Austin would certainly help their cause. Orlando is hot right now, so it could happen.

14) Cobden Muskrats {CANADA} (6-5) (5-5 in-conference)
Got thumped by Oseberg, but Cobden has scared some good teams this season, and their remaining schedule will let them control their own playoff destiny. An upset of Puffington next is not out of the question.

15) Dot Bilderberg Agency {CANADA} (6-5) (6-4 in-conference)
Got an easy win over El Camino, and The Gun Circus shouldn't be much more difficult. Can they make the playoffs, though? Bilderberg's remaining schedule is nearly identical to Vicious but a bit harder than Cobden, so Bilderberg needs to stockpile easy wins while they still can.

16) College Station Aggies {USA} (6-5) (6-4 in-conference)
Got thumped by Austin and probably won't be able to handle the resurgent Royal Men right now. The Aggies' playoff chances are looking dimmer and dimmer unless they can pull off a big upset somewhere in their tough remaining schedule.

17) Vicious Circle {CANADA} (6-5) (5-5 in-conference)
The Gun Circus was easy, but Sunday Funday is vowing to make a late push for the final playoff spot and may give VC a fight. A loss here could be fatal for VC's playoff chances, so they need to take care of business here.

18) State Of Franklin Patriots {USA} (7-4) (7-3 in-conference)
The Patriots are breathing a sigh of relief after College Station's loss to Austin, but their remaining schedule is brutal, and beating College Station later will be crucial. But first, the Patriots face Cincy, and I think the Patriots are outgunned in this one.

19) Victoria Teabaggers {CANADA} (4-7) (3-7 in-conference)
With their loss to the Real McCoys, Victoria has announced that they're giving up on the season, but I think that may be premature. They have 4 winnable games (including El Camino next) which would get them 8 wins, and an upset of Burnside might be enough to push them over the top thanks to Victoria's earlier win over Cobden. Don't give up yet!

20) South Georgia Growl {USA} (4-7) (3-7 in-conference)
Beat Nevada by 17. The Growl have a lot of winnable games left on their schedule, but unless they also upset both Cincy and KC Metro, they'll finish at or below .500 and miss the cut. Pretty much just playing for pride at this point.

21) BC Lions {CANADA} (4-7) (3-7 in-conference)
Got crushed by Dallas. Even with Drunk up next, the rest of BC's schedule is brutal. I think BC's playoff window is closed at this point, and I highly doubt they'll be able to get their offense sorted out in time to prove me wrong.

22) Sunday Funday {CANADA} (4-7) (3-7 in-conference)

23) Nevada Farm Boys {USA} (2-9) (2-8 in-conference)
They fight hard, but Nevada is just outmatched in USA Pro this season.

24) Chicago Bears 85 {USA} (2-9) (2-8 in-conference)
Chicago's schedule has been brutal, but they haven't even been able to keep things interesting against any good team. If they finish with 5 wins or more, I'll be amazed.

25) The Gun Circus {CANADA} (2-9) (2-8 in-conference)
Clearly shooting blanks.

26) Hillbilly Coondogs {USA} (2-9) (1-9 in-conference)
The second-worst human team in the USA.

27) GLB Gridiron Aces {USA} (0-11) (0-10 in-conference)
The worst human team in the USA.

28) El Camino {CANADA} (2-9) (2-8 in-conference)
Needs to be sold off for scrap metal.

29) Southern Storm {USA} (1-10) (1-9 in-conference)
CPU-owned team, though that does give them an advantage over human-owned teams with CPU rosters: no penalty to Southern's CPU dots.

30) Drunk Masterminds {CANADA} (0-11) (0-10 in-conference)
Terrible roster. Could probably still beat Grande Torino though.

31) Grande Torino {CANADA} (0-11) (0-10 in-conference)
Just awful. Would probably beat Tampa, but it would be close.

32) Tampa Bay Turbulence {USA} (0-11) (0-10 in-conference)
Human-owned. Empty roster. No threat.

playoff seed, playoff schmeed

Thanks boss.........McCoys almost have made the top 5. Today's game is going to be a tough one. I think we either win a close one, or get our asses handed to us, lol.

NOVUS RANKINGS - AFTER 12 GAMES

01) Oseberg Vikings {CANADA} (12-0) (11-0 in-conference)
Oseberg's 36-point win over Dallas sure impressed. Drunk is next, but Oseberg still faces challenges from Burnside and The Real McCoys. Can they stay undefeated?

02) Cincinnati Shockers {USA} (11-1) (11-0 in-conference)
Been thinking of doing this for a while now, but I'm pulling the trigger. Cincy has played a tougher schedule than Palm Bay and now has the same record, so they take over the top spot in the USA. They held off State Of Franklin, but up next is Cincy's toughest game yet: Choppin Broccoli.

03) Palm Bay Palookas {USA} (11-1) (10-1 in-conference)
Absolutely fell apart in the second half against KC Metro. They'll get a break next against Southern, but then Palm Bay closes out the season against 3 straight playoff contenders. Buckle up… this ride could get rough.

04) Burnside Bandits {CANADA} (11-1) (11-0 in-conference)
Easily handled The Real McCoys, and should win their next game over a Victoria squad that has thrown in the towel on the season. Oseberg still looms later though.

05) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies {CANADA} (10-2) (9-2 in-conference)
Grande was no problem, but the Duckies will need to be at their best in Game 13, a potential trap-game with Vicious Circle. Still, the Duckies have all their hardest games behind them now, and a 14-2 finish looks pretty likely.

06) Choppin Broccoli {USA} (10-2) (9-2 in-conference)
Southern was no problem, but now Choppin closes out against 4 straight playoff contenders, starting with Cincy. Should be one helluva game!

07) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys {CANADA} (9-3) (8-3 in-conference)
The Real McCoys just couldn't stand up to Burnside, losing by 17. BC should be easier, but the McCoys still have to face Oseberg and Puffington later. Still, their earlier win over Dallas has the McCoys in the driver's seat for the #4 seed.

08) All The King's Royal Men {USA} (9-3) (9-2 in-conference)
The Royal Men are in the hard part of their schedule, but they're hardly breaking stride, rolling the Aggies by 42. Up next is a suddenly-reeling Austin squad looking to get their season back on track.

09) KC's Metro Choppers {USA} (9-3) (8-3 in-conference)
KC took over the game in the third quarter, pinning Palm Bay down and never letting them up off the mat. That's the third top-tier team KC has upset this season. And with 4 easy games remaining, KC can still grab a great playoff seed if things break right for them with the other teams.

10) Dallas Paladins {CANADA} (8-4) (8-3 in-conference)
Oseberg manhandled Dallas, but the remaining schedule for the Paladins features a cupcake and 3 challenging but winnable games, starting with Puffington next. They'll need help to crack the top 4, but their playoff ticket is pretty much punched at this point barring an epic collapse down the stretch.

11) Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys {USA} (10-2) (9-2 in-conference)
Austin got absolutely shocked by Orlando, losing by 25. With 10 wins, Austin's playoff spot should be safe, but their remaining schedule is brutal, including the Royal Men next, and Austin may slip down further in the standings before all is said and done.

12) Cobden Muskrats {CANADA} (7-5) (6-5 in-conference)
Shocked Puffington and added yet another high-profile stuffed head for their trophy room. Cobden now closes out the season with 2 cupcakes and 2 tough-but-winnable games, so they'll probably make the playoffs thanks to this big win. Nothing's clinched yet though.

13) Puffington Magic Dragons {CANADA} (9-3) (8-3 in-conference)
Puffington fell hard to Cobden, and I could see them falling as far as #7 in the standings (though probably no lower than that) unless they can score an upset over Dallas (up next), Burnside, or The Real McCoys. Time for the Dragons to catch fire.

14) Orlando Midget Mafia {USA} (7-5) (7-4 in-conference)
Orlando's hot streak continues with a 25-point demolition of Austin. Orlando faces Nevada next, and with a favorable schedule ahead, Orlando's playoff prospects are looking more and more secure.

15) Dot Bilderberg Agency {CANADA} (7-5) (7-4 in-conference)
Bilderberg's remaining schedule is a challenge: first they need to hold off Sunday Funday, and then they close out against the Duckies, Dallas, and Cobden. That probably means an 8-8 record, but thanks to their earlier tie-breaking wins over Vicious and Victoria, that would be enough for the 8-seed... unless Vicious or Victoria can score an upset, in which case Bilderberg would need an upset too to keep up. First things first, though: beat Sunday. An upset loss here could spell disaster for Bilderberg.

16) Vicious Circle {CANADA} (7-5) (6-5 in-conference)
Steamrolled Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive, but with their earlier loss to Bilderberg, odds are Vicious is going to need to upset someone above them to leapfrog Bilderberg in the standings. They'll get their chance against the Duckies up next, and they also face Dallas and Cobden later. Vicious is dangerous, and they're capable of winning any one of those games, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will.

17) College Station Aggies {USA} (6-6) (6-5 in-conference)
The Aggies got thumped by the Royal Men, and so their next game with the State Of Franklin Patriots is probably do-or-die for their playoff chances. Win, and they'll probably finish 8-8 and grab the #8 playoff seed. Lose, and they'll have to score upsets over Palm Bay and Choppin to stay ahead of the Patriots in the standings.

18) State Of Franklin Patriots {USA} (7-5) (7-4 in-conference)
Couldn't hang on against Cincy, so now the Patriots find themselves locked into a do-or-die scenario with College Station. Beat the Aggies, and the Patriots can lose their remainder of their brutal schedule and still finish 8-8, most likely ahead of College Station to hold the #8 seed. Lose to the Aggies, and the Patriots would have to sweep their final 3 games to make the playoffs, a tall order since they include the Royal Men, Austin and Orlando.

19) Victoria Teabaggers {CANADA} (5-7) (4-7 in-conference)
Victoria has previously announced that they're giving up on the season, but I think that may be premature. They have 3 winnable games left which would get them 8 wins, and an upset of Burnside next might be enough to steal the 8-seed. Don't give up yet!

20) South Georgia Growl {USA} (5-7) (4-7 in-conference)
Edged out Chicago by 7. The Growl have a lot of winnable games left on their schedule, but unless they also upset both Cincy and KC Metro, they'll finish at or below .500 and miss the cut. Pretty much just playing for pride at this point.

21) Sunday Funday {CANADA} (4-8) (3-8 in-conference)

22) BC Lions {CANADA} (5-7) (4-7 in-conference)
The rest of BC's schedule is brutal, and they'll need to somehow close out with 4 more wins just to get a sniff at a playoff spot. I highly doubt they'll be able to get their offense sorted out in time to do so.

23) Nevada Farm Boys {USA} (3-9) (3-8 in-conference)
Nevada's ceiling is 7 wins if they somehow win out, and that still won't be enough for a playoff spot. They fight hard, but Nevada is just outmatched in USA Pro this season.

24) Chicago Bears 85 {USA} (2-10) (2-9 in-conference)
If they finish with 5 wins or more, I'll be amazed.

25) The Gun Circus {CANADA} (2-10) (2-9 in-conference)

All close wins, but yep, and wins are wins. But KC has also lost to #2, #8 (by 46 points!!!) and #11 (by 12 points). That inconsistency makes KC hard to rank... you guys are capable of beating anyone, but that doesn't mean you always do so.

Still a strong squad, though.
