Maybe 2.0 will have a better marketing plan???

When will people understand that marketing has/had nothing to do with the fail or success of this game ? Any game fails because of it's playability , once it was figured out to be nothing more than Math 101 this game failed. People play games for fun , once the fun is gone you have left 200-300 people from thousands that started to play. Market to a million and it'll still fail if there is no fun involved.

As for the OP I stopped playing this game about 3 seasons ago , so yes i'll try out 2.0 and hope what i'm reading is true and it'll be fun. Not too much math , SA's and Attributes that actually work and have counters and you can put sp's in. No I Slam this and/or WR screen over and over and over , no one dot only doing anything in the guise of "it's a team effort". Let's get real here the curtain was pulled long ago on this particular game.

I guess it's a different mindset between us or something. I always just wanted an offense that is run to my liking that could put me in position to win, but was capable of getting anywhere from throttled to throttling the opponent based on gameplan...and in the gameplan is where all the meat and potatoes lied.

You could have variety in HOW you attacked...IE: Running team...Passing team...balanced attack...On D, zone, man, blitz heavy etc....but it should still come down to who put up the better gameplan as compared to their opponent's. I mean, it's nice that you get a built-in build lead on others that provides you an edge, but the staggering differences in talent early on in this game ran off EVERYONE because that talent gap was so large...There was absolutely nothing that could be done coordinating-wise to overcome it in so many cases...so your option as a team owner/coordinator was start over your team from scratch (an ordeal well over a year to do) or patchwork together a recruiting class of an entire team (Good luck with that sh*t)....or...quit (DING DING DING).

The best case for long term success of this game was having a sim that rewards solid coordinating for their efforts...This game failed to do that for a long, long time...and thus it has languished. But it finally is in a state that it is much more possible than in the past. So that's what is sad about the whole thing. It's over before it truly began.

I guess I am just at the point where building doesn't really interest me anymore. So it really only comes down to coordinating. And after 30+ seasons of doing that, I have an AI that hardly changes from season to season. I can't say competition really drives me at this point in GLB as the WL has it right now, but it still just feels lame. What got me here this long was clearly the ever changing environment season to season and the constant need to figure it out. Probably what worries me most about GLB2. It is fun right now figuring it out, but a couple seasons from now, will much of anything change about it? I don't know...I hope so.

to the OP, probably neither.

I will try out the new game, don't want to make a snap judgement but..

I think once my current players are dead. I will call it quits and everyone will be happy

This will be the case for a lot of users IMO. Possibly myself included.

I heard its for sale - then they're not going to let anyone transfer flex over to glb2 and the 1st condition of the sale was Peter and Jesse giving the new potential buyers the advice to wipe everyone's glb accounts and start over from season 1 where we all have to rebuy flex

IF this is true it would kill any chance 2.0 has beyond the 200-300 hardcore players here and the new suckers that they bring in.

fwiw, coordinating isn't math. It is basic common sense. Building a player in GLB1 never took a genius. It just took the ability to read and understand a concept. People generalize GLB as a math problem because they just don't want to understand it. Anything farther than basic math I am a true failure at.

one thing the casual player builder will really like about GLB2 is there isn't a super need for backups at most if any position. So statistics per game are actually fun because you generally play most of the game. Sure the top guys might still be the best at getting them, but it is nice to see players getting the chance to succeed because they are on the field. Also in a casual atmosphere with no progressions, an OC is forced to look at the progressions for the play involved and make play sets from that. So while I can kinda build a plan around 1-2 guys, there is still a lot of room for other players to shine.

No it took log in time , and at certain times which isn't conducive to having a life or fun lol. Miss any little thing and you pretty much were/are screwed. Too much % involved for me as opposed to just a certain point in time if that makes sense? And wel all the speed and strength to the hilt stuff while you wait 6 months.

This should keep folks interested , end of day this game was always about player building and watching the dot you paid for. It said MMO but honestly the team thing just isn't a selling point unless you are buying groups of build players instead of single owner players tossed in a salad.

Speed has just been replaced with Sprint and Quickness. You will still see everyone pushing those attributes heavy early. But I get what you are saying. Which isn't so much math as it is tedious, daily, and what seems like forever.

Remember when everyone was asking for CPU/D-League Teams to be addressed, most of the responses were...

Sign to a human owned team, and you won't have to worry about it.
Think somewhere people just figured networks were the only option when some human owned teams were just as bad as CPUs (note: check CPU Teams threads of this season and past seasons)

It would be nice if you screwed up something during the build process there was a "go-back" option, but they reserved this feature for GLB2 instead I think.

Respec option makes zero sense for GLB1 since ALG's are what drives builds to differentiate.

Tbh the respec option especially makes no sense in GLB2 since you can build on the fly without permanently doing damage to your player but oh well.

I'm sure this question has been asked but I haven't seen the answer:

Can flex from GLB1 be xferred to GLB2 or do we have to start paying again?
