This is the same response I get from those people, too.

Spend an hour reading through build guides and build forum responses and there is very little variance among player builds. The problem I've always had with GLB is characteristics like intelligence, intangibles, heart and drive matter just as much as speed, strength and agility. While there are some VAs that try to pull these in, they're largely lost in the game and those are the things that make the game of football.

People who follow other people's build guides are sheep who are too stupid to learn how to do things on their own.

Why pay attention to guides or the build forums?I'm pretty sure that 90% of my build tactics would be universally acclaimed as wrong, but the dots do alright. As for intelligence, heart, and drive, those were intended(to varying degrees of success) to fit under vision, confidence, and stamina. .

In response to the original question....I am very much teetering on the fence line between staying the course for this season, or selling my teams, retiring my players (that I haven't boosted yet) and recouping whatever I can from all the flex I've spent. It makes no sense to me, financially, to spend money on a game that, let's be honest, more than likely will dry up with players in the next 3 months. Right now, I'm sitting 70/30 towards getting my flex back & only playing with my free dots. Only thing keeping me from doing it right now is the other agents that I have on my teams.

This is kind of true. I think the only way to keep players here would be to hold the flex captive and not make it transferable to the new game. I was thinking of building my next 55 players here in four seasons when my current 55 players hit decline. If the Beta is ready by then, I would probably just use that flex to build 55 dots in the new game instead.

Unless the new game is very different, or puts a maximum on the number of players you can build, the new game is going to cannibalize the old game pretty hard. It is like expecting that people who play Call of Duty Black Ops are all going to keep playing both Black Ops and Black Ops 2 when the new game is released. On the other hand, when Activision releases a different kind of game, like angry birds Star Wars, they aren't going to be concerned about people leaving CoD for that game.

On that note, I would probably play a warrior generals Angry Birds dot sim, tbh.

Interesting. I bet 2.0 has coaches.

Explains why they went out of beta in 1.0. So instead of constantly making adjustments, and having to deal with people complaining that these adjustments are impacting their DOTs negatively, they'll just start a new game from scratch, have it be the same game, but with improvements.

I guess, makes sense.

Yes, but if they do that, then they run the VERY HIGH risk of severely pissing off the current user base, which will in turn cause said current user base to give GLB the proverbial middle finger and just quit playing all together. I know I would....if they pulled that, I would retire every single one of players, sell every one of my teams, never pay another dime for EITHER of the games, and never play another down of GLB...then they would be right back to where they were when GLB 1 first started and they'd have to try and build a whole new consumer/user base. I call us "consumers", because, let's be honest....we're not customers to GLB, we just consume copious amounts of flex that are purchased with our hard earned money that we will never get back. At least as a "customer", you have a short amount of time to return whatever you purchased for a full refund.

I hope dots are an option in GLB2. The new graphics are a step back. It´s alot harder to see who´s blocking who and even hard to see if a T is being beat on the outside or inside, for example.

On the other hand, I bought $60 worth of zombie maps in Black Ops. I bought Black Ops 2 for $60, and nothing transferred over. First thing they do when I log in is they try and get me to spend another $60 to get all of the DLC when it is released. Most games don't let you transfer your investment from one game to the next, the best you can hope for is 20% of your original purchase price back if you trade the game in. But GLB doesn't allow you to sell your account, so...

Exactly...they already have our money so why do they care what we want? Hell, I'd be happy if they said "we'll buy back your flex & pay you 20% of the amount you paid for it."

I'd do it in a heartbeat!
