Add different types of leagues. Iron-man, No boosting leagues etc.... Lets have some variety. There are already underground leagues that run stuff like this. Why shoot your self in the foot by not add those to the game that already exist. Don't make the BS argument about it will fuck the game up.

They treat ULs like we don't spend money on this game.

At this point, there's not much they can do (or more importantly, WILL do) to help this game. It has been in a coma for the better part of 10 seasons now. They're just waiting for the insurance to to run out so they can pull the plug. Damn shame, too. I have been here since around Season 2 or 3 and I truly thought this was going to be a great game. Thinking outside the box would occasionally bring forth some decent results. Now, it's just a robot game with a bunch of build molds and forums full of dickheads who provide no help to anybody with legitimate questions. Of course, some of those questions wouldn't be necessary had they taken the time out to put together ONE DECENT GUIDE to teach new guys how to get along.

Every person I told about this game walked away either confused or pissed after a week.

Show me one person who asked for help and had legit questions that didn't get it.

I dont really play other MMORPGs so I don't know anything about it, so i am asking.

if you joing WOW or some other thing, is there guides for new users?

I mean we do have a FAQ with videos - http://goallineblitz.com/game/faq.pl

we have a FAQ forum

If a new user never asks questions, how can they learn? This isn't something I think a new user can just come in and figure out on their own, I will admit that much but there are people out there helping. FAQ forum is usually void of dickheads (well mostly anyway)

It's not that hard for a new user if he puts forth just a little bit of effort

you could easily go back to season 5 - 8 main forum and find a ton of users who were abused and did not get any help. It was really bad back then.

Oh there was tons of butthurt back then in league forums. But there was also great rivalries with good posts too. The under pro forums are sort of fun now. The WL forums have kinda died from rivalries because well...it doesn't feel like a rivalry as much when we are playing each other daily. The only real rivalries that come out do so in the playoffs for a couple days and then they die for another 32 days.

Pro is just dead. WL made pro the AAA leagues and it will never recover. It honestly doesn't matter how competitive you make it. The pride of those leagues wasn't competition. It was the fight for what region was best. By making WL you didn't just take away the WSI's or Santiago's of those leagues to make things more competitive, you essentially took away their identities all together. I remember being a fringe playoff team in SEA Pro. But outside the thought of trying to think I could win SEA Pro, the bigger thing was omg does anyone think we might be a top 50 team in GLB? Or holy shit we got to win this game tomorrow against such and such from Canada Pro so that we hold our league pride in a seasonal Region battle. Or hey we just won our tournament game today. SEA Pro is now 9-3 in the tourney and we didn't fail them. It wasn't really even about your team much of the time, I mean it was always about your own team, but in a larger sense you all came together like the fucking justice league or the Avengers because you wanted to feel like you were in the best region. To me...the end of that was when GLB died quite a bit.

Honestly I think it was a big blow when regional leagues lost their identity. They no longer have their own forums. If I wanted to have a rivalry with someone in my regional pro league or even communicate at all I have to go to this disaster of a forum http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread_list.pl?forum_id=10814 and post in some stickied thread. The system basically limits you to one thread per league. Beyond that there is no sense of location identity. Teams don't start in USA and work their way up from AA to AAA to Pro. They start in random league A and move to random league B.

GLB the perfect game

See my suggestion threads.....

But in a nut shell.....

1) Advertising. Game needs more players.

2) A Clear Concise Manual. Imposing Game needn't be this imposing.

3) Monthy Fee Structure or a more reduced fee structure for larger purchases. Will attract and retain more players in the first part, or let deeper pockets make up for lack of players by owning more dots as to the second part.

4) Openness about Game Mechanics. Spending years to figure it out is cute but not good business. There should be at least four different competitive ways to build each archetype and game skills should come from composing your teams builds to suit each other. It should not come from randomly guessing what is a better build and what skills really do what in which situations.

5) Quicker Player Build Process. The Pee Wee to Retirement Concept is cute. But its not accessible enough for many players. Instant Pro Builds, or faster build cycles (say 3 seasons, Pee Wee, High School, College, then your Pro Plateau for 9 seasons).

6) More Things To Do. By this I mean Coaches and Owners and Agents and Media. Have dots that can impact the game from all of those positions. Allow dots to convert from players to them or be started as them from scratch.

7) More Realistic Results. Scale Play such that games are within a range of 3-0 to 60 to 0 and no higher, at least at the pro level.

8) More interesting Build Process. Add personality and other dot features to bring in the human element and add more build choices.

9) More SAs and VAs, More VPs and Cheaper 3rd SA Row. 8 and 9 are related I suppose. But more SAs and VAs means more player variation and things to do.

10) Improved Mid Game adjustments. Half Time Adjustments, improved AI system with more options to make them. Success Based use of plays (ie SB HB Screen works 75% use AI that uses it more. Works 5% of the time use AI that no longer uses it) and more control over the AI autoadjust triggers (ie what is success to trigger auto adjusting within a package etc).

Nobody really knew all that much back then and if they did it was all a big secret. Now not so much.

eh...that kinda comes hand in hand to me. Go look at the Pro leagues that have their own forums and tell me that one thread isn't enough.

Some option that allows people to affordably field their own full teams would be nice as well. This is the only MMO I have ever played where you HAVE to play with other people, which can be good, but often it's a lot easier, more convenient and more fun to go it alone or in very small groups.

Still have a few roster spots available for the Fighting Homers, bhall.
