Black Ops was pretty good. I know about the beer snob VIPness; when my local place got their seven cases of Hopslam, I showed up immediately after work and asked "How much do you have left and how many do I get?" They let me waltz out with a case and I could have taken more but didn't want to be too greedy. They set aside lots of bottles for me (I'd still have some Bolt Cutter if my wife hadn't learned she liked it so much).
As for beers being enjoyed this weekend, I just had some Evil Twin Aún Más a Jesús last night and a whole lot of Founders Curmudgeon.I hear that about not being too greedy, I got offered 5 bottles of black ops but talked him down to 2 so others can enjoy it. I've found random bottles at the whole foods an hour away the past couple years so at this point I really don't even need to reserve them, I just do because I like buying from this guy.
I haven't had the curmudgeon, but there hasn't been anything from founders I've disliked so far...Granted that's only dirty bastard, porter, and breakfast stout, but they're batting 100% for me so far! lol.

That's a pretty nice line up there. Black OPs is one of those holy grails that I probably won't get to try for a long time.
Blaecorn is really good (as is Clown Shoe's Vampire Slayer). They also have a barrel aged version of blaecorn called porcine unidragon that is pretty fantastic and surprisingly still available at my local liquor store.
I was able to pick up a few of the Oak Smoked OG a few weeks back and I like it a lot. The smokiness is a little overwhelming, but really creates a different beer. I'd really go well with some smoked gouda.
I didn't make it to the smoked og, I was trashed before I even opened the grand cru

...I'll have to wait till Tuesday to enjoy it, but I'm definitely looking forward to it...what are the laws regarding sending beer in the mail? If I find extra bottles of black ops at whole foods I wouldn't be opposed to shipping them out...
It's funny you're more familiar with clown shoes than I am when the brewery is a 2 hour drive from my house lol...I just recently found out they existed haha...Speaking of which, another company that I'm just starting to get to know is North Coast Brewing....
http://www.northcoastbrewing.com/beers.htmI found their old rasputin imperial russian stout at a gas station a couple weeks back and had a good time with it....Then I took my wife out to dinner last week at a place across the river in VT that caters to beer snobs and had a glass of the scrimshaw pilsner...I'm not normally a huge pilsner guy, but it was pretty damned good all things considered, and I needed it for my challenge card so what can ya do...
http://www.whetstonestation.com/our-mug-club-the-wall/they have a challenge where you have to drink 99 different beers within a years time from 9 different categories...I like it because it forces you to try things you wouldn't normally consider, and that's where I had my first flemish red so I can't complain. I started back in August and am 2/3 done so far...Had all kinds of free time before the baby but haven't been going there as frequently since he showed up!
