The LOI should not be that binding needing the owner's approval. The agent should be able to opt out at any time at their own discretion and when they see fit. If that is removed it is a +1 for me; it will help agents and owners a bunch.

It would also help if when your dot is a FA and you commit pending a WL promotion as well; as a lot of dots do this during the off season if the agent is wanting their dot to play in WL.

Nice idea, but I don't see it working in GLB.

If they agree to sign with you then back out.....

They found something better.

A 'letter of intent' sounds like a big waste, to me.

Just another way to clutter up the PLFT forums.

Alternatively, have the unrestricted opt out extend until D41, leaving no "locked in" period up until the auto-contract/sign.

Now I need a lawyer. But vote changed to +1

Much more important things, from my point of view, to work on.

its gotta be black or white.
its either binding or it isnt.

If it is binding, then people will bleat (they started in this thread already)
if it is not binding, then its a waste of time and probably makes recruiting even harder, due to late changes of mind.

Need to make it to where agents can't back out. Nothing sucks more than recruiting players and the agent backs out at the last minute.

Make it binding somewhere between d32 - d38 with opt out only with owner/ GM approval. If it's not binding, then it achieves nothing. This will help owners and agents imo. It's optional so if you aren't comfortable with it, DON'T SIGN THE LOI !!!! It would not replace the current system, it just allows another option.

I would include agent approval for opt out as well. It needs to not only protect the team by being binding on the player, but also protect the player, by being binding on the team. In fact, I would suggest adding a line to the suggestion that it should tie in with your current contract extensions and count towards a future roster limit. Your contracts that go beyond Day 40 + your accepted LOIs can not exceed the roster limit of 55 players.

I would also include the terms of the contract (1 year / 2 year as well as Trade or No Trade {not that anyone trades anymore}) in the LOI and basically make it a pre-signed contract that becomes active on Day 41 unless both parties agree to opt out.
