The teams ahead of Lunch Box in the promotion script were all notified of there option to promote to Gold, Lunch Box was the next team in line for promotion via script rules that responded in time for support to be able to promote the proper team.

I did not do this to get Nif's team in to Gold, I also am not EDB, and there are more than 8 of us that live together.

I do agree that Promotion/Demotion need to be fixed to first allow teams wanting to drop out to be able too (I know D-town had to fight with Admins for demotion)

I think that the on the field performance of my team last season earned me receiving one of the extra spots, buts that's just my opinion. We did beat two silver league champs in Halo's (SAS and UT Pimps) and beat two Gold teams (MMD and DI, when Dharma wasn't even CPU). We also has the smallest point differential in the league championship game (7) of any LCG losers and our loss was at the hands of what was probably the best Silver champ in Dirty INC (who had 53 more guys boosted and CEd than I did).

So, Im pretty confused by your statement, but it is what it is. Did we "earn" it the traditional way? No, and I realize that. But like 15 teams got the nod and after the 8 spots locked up by League Champs, I can't find any other team who would be #9 over mine, and certainly not 7 who are better. If there are, they didn't show it on the field.

I'm glad you agree with the actual premise of my post though. Looking back at this thread since I posted that, though, certainly suggests that no good will come of this thread for sure. What can I say? I tried...

I can't speak for everyone, but I know my team (http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=6757) got two invites to get promoted to gold. I took a vote in our team forum and we turned them both down because we were uncomfortable getting promoted without at least a conference trophy.

That's not what I'm saying. In fact, I'm saying the opposite. You did earn your spot, win or loss. What I'm asking is why would you promote your team if you don't even care about the leagues or game anymore? Meaning you probably won't give it your all or care.

Like everyone else has said, if VCA doesn't belong, they'll be out next year. If Lunch Box is gold caliber, they should be able go 15-1, 16-0 and go their League Championship and get promoted.

As for the Nif's team, if you weren't Co-Owner, this wouldn't be as much of an issue. Also to go with gruppo, you tried to cut on mccollums for having 10 teams, but you yourself would have taken on 3 had your team not gone CPU.

And no matter how hard you try not to be like him, you are exactly like LeBron. But keep banking on the fact that just because you denied promotion that you are a saint. Just because the money from the TV show for LeBron went to the Boys and Girls Club, doesn't mean he didn't make an ass out of himself or gain a lot of haters.

This thread, despite tgdtd's best efforts, is about a copper team getting some sort of special invite to the league most silver teams are aspiring to reach... and in accepting, left more than one team, my own included, wondering why we should keep reaching for that goal when season after season this issue comes up. EDB lent his voice to the cause last season and perma has done the same this time around.

GLB has already gotten alot more money from me than the average agent will ever spend so I have no argument for 'rage' or boycotting aspects of the game. My only validation can come from reaching the top league and competing against the supposed best. In Pee Wee, that is the Gold league. Whether or not I could succeed is neither here nor there when, once again, plenty of teams throughout silver were not given the option this team was.

Based on last seasons play and the ridiculousness of Silver sorting, I'm more than comfortable saying my team did enough in the regular season to be one of the teams next in line so to speak. Permastoned helped finish what EDB had begun to start for me last season and eventually took over even more tasks for Lunch Box. His helped pushed us from an annual 4/5 seed to the number 1 seed in a stacked conference. He doesn't 'own' the team, pay me flex, or even make dots for me. The co-owner title is as lol as a lolgm title for most teams but in this case I would have been that team that lost in the 1st or 2nd round and never been part of ths discussion if it weren't for his help.

I look forward to the opportunity to win some games and hopefully we don't look silly trying. I wouldn't expect anything less than everyones best shot with or without a controversial personality assisting me.

Well I know that Monteral Shamrocks, we got an invite and we politely declined as we thought we weren't ready despite going 14-1-1 and 15-1 the past 2 silver seasons. Finger Licking Nose Pickers also declined an invite to jump from Copper. Funny though how your team didn't get an invite or maybe it took you too long. Or worse, maybe you weren't good enough to qualify. I mean you didn't even win your CC. Not to say VCA was more qualified, but I know bobweave and I have been in silver for a long time with Monteral and we've consistently been above average.

But you and perma got what you want, so quit bitching.

FFS... silver teams are eating themselves alive in conferences/leagues like the former silver 3 and current silver 1. Teams like STD, SoA, a couple of Bostons, C3L, FCA, Loretto (which took home 3 silver related trophies), former gold ETMR, etc. etc.... knock each other around every season and your good ole boys mentality thinks ok to continue to deny some of them their chance because one of the good ol' boys selected another good ol' boy to take his place The dwindling Pee Wee numbers aren't related to disinterested copper teams. They are a direct result of disenchanted Silver teams and their talent getting tired of the try & try again approach only to be left out time and time again.

We didn't win our Conf Championship but we certainly earned our way into the game which was against the afore mentioned Loretto whom p much took top honors all around last season for a silver team. We also played them a hell of a lot closer than the other conferences representative did... which would have never been in the game to begin with if the league wasnt so friggin lopsided. I can't help the teams ahead of Lunch Box declined their invitation. I wasn't given an invitation because users and support staff got togethor and went around the promotion rules to help eachother out. Yes I did get what I wanted... a shot at Gold for Lunch Box. Yes permastoned in a sense got what he wanted... a fair shot at Gold for all based on the rules.

I don't know your history enasty but it seems you are sticking up for the wrong cause here. The 'it will work itself out next season' approach is what makes teams disgusted with this game at all levels.
