So... Dirty won the Silver Tourny... they won the Silver MVT for the Gold Versus Silver Team Competition... they went undefeated through the regular season... They beat ACSurf, AA, The Shorthorns, TIA, and FG in ranked scrimmages... honestly if they hadn't have waited so long to boost they would have won even more.
Honestly, they are worthy of being in Gold. This is the selection process that was used and approved by Admin. Everyone needs to just go back to Silver 8 and think about how if they are bitching at how tough that league is, they probably aren't ready to play in Gold.

I stand corrected and have no problem placing SAS right near the top of a Promotion list based upon total franchise wins. My question to you Dead Ed is do you believe going by total wins a fair and sensible way to promote under a defined set of criteria? This would place your team at probably #2 on a list of candidates behind Crib.

I never said they don't actually deserve the promotion, I said its unfair they be given the opportunity alone to advance to gold off of tournament, and scrimmage play, while every other team must rely on the crappily designed Silver League play to advance to gold....
If we were doing subjective based promotions, Crib would have been in Gold since, well ever...

I won through Silver 2. Does anyone remember that year? I think it was the most lopsided destruction of any league in Pee Wee Medal Era history. That next season I barely staved off elimination (mostly because I had a balanced passing game and this was the season of the passing nerf). Do I deserve to be in Gold anymore than Dirty?
Dtown bought Wam after it turned out the owner was a bunch of multis. That's how he got in. Does he deserve to be there?
The answer is yes, because season after season he and I have staved off elimination and found success in Gold.
Let Dirty have their season. If they don't fall back to Silver, you can all shut your mouths and take their shot in Season 17.

No I won't shut my mouth, I'm not going to just sit back and watch someone be treated unfairly and get passed up on a chance to be in gold THIS SEASON, not next....
Selling your team to someone is not at all the same, as its still the same team and that is your decisions as an owner to sell it rather than have it drop out....
going through an easy silver league isn't fair either, which is why my proposed solution has been and always will be to eliminate some of the silver leagues to promote more competition within them....
but at least everyone is exposed to that same unfair system, and nobody is given a subjective promotion.... which I stand by being completely rediculous.

I think we should all agree that having a defined system that reduces the risk of exceptions and meets a defined set of goals as being critically important is that all teams in a promotion discussion spend way too much money in a given season to deserve otherwise.

Buying a team and doing a team switch are the exact same thing.
Your record may not follow you, but it still means that you didn't win your way into the league, it is the same thing as picking your successor, which is what has happened here.
When Darkus went to Bort with his league structure I was fighting for a taller and narrower league structure, but people fought it because they didn't want to spend three seasons trying to get into Gold.
Before it was medals my idea (and it was my idea that got Pee Wee reorganized from 25 seperate leagues into a tiered structure thank you very much) was Senior, Junior, Sophmore, Frosh.
1 x Senior
4 x Junior
8 x Sophmore
12 x Frosh
The top two from each junior got into senior, top two from each sophmore into junior, teams all started with Frosh unless there was room in Sophmore.
This was back when there were still 25 leagues, obviously it is much nicer having it tightened up.
I would now just eliminate the Frosh rung and keep the elimination system as is.

Its not the same thing, by selling your team you aren't picking a successor, you're just giving ownership over to another player....
It is only in your opinion that it has the same effect, in my opinion it is not.
A new owner is not the same as a new team... even though it is often the case... it is not always, and without completely doing away with the team transfer system I don't see how to fairly implement any kind of "Demotion because you changed owner" system.

A new owner is not the game as a new team...
So if I sold you the Dharma Initiative in Season 17 and you renamed it the Death Valley Dragons and copied your AI, builds, packages, and plays... what would remain of the DI except for the trophies and record?

As I edited after you quoted, it CAN be the situation, but its not THE same, and also once you transfer your team its gone forever, you can't get it back, all your loltrophys out the window, so their is quite a bit more to selling your team than just asking to be demoted from gold.

Then we will have to agree to disgree, because as far as I'm concerned it is the exact same thing.
Rather than force an excellent team to go CPU and lose their record, they have given them the choice to retain their history and still take a break from Gold.
They didn't lose out, so picking their successor is just fine. The promotion system DOES NOT include teams that seek to get out of Gold who did not go CPU and did not lose out, so all arguments about who should get to do what go right out the window.

Oh, so apparently its out the window that I ask the promotion system be applied to all promotions rather than just let people get in backdoor style..

Okay, then remove the trophies of both teams, as I'm pretty sure that they would NOT be as quick to do this if they had to sell their team to choose their replacement...
its not the same because DDuPrae09 got to not only choose who took his place in Gold, but got to keep his team, whereas Dtown took over his team as well as its record and trophies, while the old owner has lost his flashy team.
