Hey everyone, I started work today so i'll have less and less time here to write for SportsCenter. I'll still do pregames and recaps but expect them to look more like the article below.
This is SportsCenter.
Well here in week 3 we've had a ton of interesting games that seem to point to one surprising picture: The West is becoming more striated with an upper, middle and lower tier emerging, while the East is becoming more homogeneous. In the West, the 3rd tier teams, Chuck Norris and Sweetness, were creamed in their matchups with the Tunas and Outlaws.
A prominent middle tier is emerging. The Terror put up a good struggle against the Renegades, but simply failed to score when it counted. In a surprise upset, the long-dormant BC Lions went back to basics against the Bandits and put 13 on the unsuspecting team. This win gives some substance to my suspicions that the Lions are finally coming together as a team and making use of those high leveled players. The Panthers have yet to establish themselves clearly as a 2nd tier team, having failed to make a significant impact in games with the best of the league. The Sea Team, however, has fallen from their high perch and are now poised at the leading edge of the middle of the pack. After failing to compete with the best of the league and playing a disappointing defensive game against a growing Houston team, they will need to take a good look at themselves.
In the Top tier we find Cary, with a strong showing against a really tough Omaha defense. Omaha remains undefeated in a great run to open up the season. They've shown that they deserve their clean record. Honolulu made short work of the Sea Team, showing that they have what it takes to be one of the best in the West. The Outlaws and the Thunder have both played well, but the Thunder has earned their undefeated record while the Outlaws have yet to play the top tier of the West. In between the top and the middle tier we find the Tunas, who were shut out by the Outlaw, but they've certainly played better against the bottom of the west...
In the East we find a much harder picture to paint. The Gangsters, after a strong first two weaks they almost dropped the ball against the Cougars who had only scored 3 points (and against the Steamer too!) before playing the one-time best defense of the East. A missed extra point was the only thing keeping the Gangsters from playing in OT where their weak 4th quarter showing makes it hard to guarantee their victory.
In another weekly shocker, the Ho Playbook were completely shut out by the Morticians. Only 110 yards of offense makes it hard to see the Playbook making a strong run at a conference championship. The Beer Barons are still looking solid with a strong offensive showing against the Steamer, but the Jousters lost in a narrow game against the Carniceros.
Radio City showed up against Tampa. Poor Tampa is still winless with their abysmal chemistry. The Wolves made a strong statement against the Dores. But then again, the Dores hasnt really been any kind of defensive hotshots in the East. The Doom have also rolled right along. But only 22 points against the Irons definitely doesnt make them stand out in the East. Probably the most promising story here in the Eastern Conference is in Albany. The Mammoths have pounded out win after win. They're only going to get stronger. Keep a close eye on these guys.

Good stuff, except too much use of the word "tier."
BTW, the Doom used the game against the Irons to experiment on offense. I won't say how, but that is the reason for the not-so-high score. Our defense recorded our first shutout too.
