From Jan. 26, at the end of a series of PMs between me and your illustrious leader, I wrote:

"Actually, it makes no difference to me what you think you're arguing. But you can pat yourself on the back for motivating me to make this my own personal cause.

I will make sure this is either eliminated from the game (i.e. officially ruled to be against the rules) or, if GLB decides it is legal, that every single team be aware of this option as a way to generate more revenue. This way, it's not just a handful of teams getting an advantage by exploiting a loophole that not a lot of people know about. Call me crazy, but I think we should all play by the same rules."

I have been pushing this issue at every opportunity to anyone who would listen for the past month. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has been pushing GLB to shit or get off the pot when it comes to its supposed "rules," but I'm also pretty sure they were getting sick of hearing from me.

Yay me!

Punishments were never the point. The point was that we should all be playing with the same set of rules.

In this case we had Team A doing Action X, which every mod and admin in the game told me was illegal. Those same mods and admins told me I would be punished if I did the same thing. And yet Team A was allowed to continue doing this supposed illegal action with no punishments. In the meantime, GLB refused to put out a statement saying that it was illegal to do Action X.

So during this time, one team was allowed to do it, and I was told I was not allowed to do it. Is that fair? Is that playing by the same rules?

Now at least we know what the rules are, and I am happy about that. If GLB decides to punish Team A for the extreme level to which they were exploiting Action X (and bragging about it in league forums), that is for GLB to do.

I simply did exactly what David Stern advised me to do: I took it up with support.

Since you never really understood what caused things to work a certain way, and why teams do/did what they did. PT pretty much sums it up right here

Hey Bort and Catch, do you know why people slow build?

They slow build because BORT, not the players, came up with the idea of auto leveling gains which benefits players to build a set way in order to maximize points. Your customers don't want to pay $10 a year to have a player that is better than average in a high league next January. Unfortunately you Bort set the game up this way.

Do you know why teams merge?

They merge because the tactics, game management, player management, agent management, financial management and daily stress of owning a team is far too much for 2-3 people at high levels and most importantly because they watched merging teams win multiple championships at high levels and quickly realized unless just a few people own all the players on a team winning it all becomes impossible without merging. Team owners don't want to start a team build it up for 10 seasons with loyal agents they become friends with and then combine their baby with another team just to cut loose half the agents that got them to the spot they were at but they just realize it becomes a necessity.

Do you know why people shell out 400 flex a season to own a farm team or cash team?

They set up farm teams because Bort made equipment too expensive and didn't have the foresight to see that the way equipment is set up a team has to have home field advantage in the playoffs just about every season. Teams that don't get this can't fully upgrade equipment and can't lure free agents to the team and in the teams 10th season they may be being punished for something that happened in season 5. This sets up unbalanced play and teams quickly scramble to find other ways to level the playing field. This game isn't the NFL but you can blow smoke up everyone's ass and try to claim it isn't based on professional football because the last time I checked college players don't have contracts. Every NFL team is on an equal playing field with finances every season. In fact, the teams that spend less and lose one season typically have more to spend the next. This system is so bad it is like it was created with one too many chromosomes.

This new rule isn't going to keep teams and agents from abusing cash, you are just simply making it harder and more time consuming which in the end is the reason people are leaving the game faster than they are coming in.

I would have loved this rule 8 seasons ago when the first collusion was going on instead of waiting 8 seasons to put your foot down and going back trying to penalize teams that are no longer competitive.

So the next time I get a player stuck on a bad team owner that promises equipment but doesn't deliver and when he becomes available he needs about 6.8 million to get equipment fully upgraded and he can't find a way to get that taken care of guess what I'm going to do?
Retire him

Guess what is going to happen with the cash teams that are out there you are collecting 400 flex a season on?
Sold back.

There is nothing worse in this game than slow building a player up for 8 seasons to finally have him ready to compete at a high level just to have the sim change completely away from the vision of your player. We now can't afford to switch equipment and your customer has thrown $40-100 down the drain because of your poor foresight. What should we do with these players?
Would you suggest retiring them or the agent just losing interest in the game and quitting because these are the only two options you leave the agent with.

This announcement is going to cause chaos. I know that my teams little move this season caused plenty of crying but we didn't steal money from my team before leaving, we spent it all trying to get fully equipped for the playoffs before even deciding it. Sad that a USA Pro team that has won multiple trophies along the way with an elaborate farm system and took a season off to rent players off for max cash raising over $75 million still wasn't fully equipped but it just goes to show how fucked up the financial part of this game is.

So what are you going to be doing about the teams that dropped down and started over with huge bank accounts prior to this announcement that will have a massive advantage on everyone else when they reach the top levels of the game in a few seasons?

Think before you act for christ's sake!

Ultimately do you know why I rented off my entire team in season 9? Do you know why I merged with the Blaze? Do you know why we've set up such an elaborate farm system? We did this to try and level the playing field with teams that used the playoff ticket sale glitch back in season 3 to create hundreds of millions in additional revenue. I raised hell about this yet you ignored it allowing them to keep the money and giving them a HUGE financial advantage season after season. Are you going to penalize them too if any of them are still around and haven't quit the game by now?

I understand completely why you set up dummy teams in AA, raided their treasuries and used a nearly unlimited amount of cash to lure top-level recruits to your organization by being able to afford equipment upgrades and re-specs that teams who were playing by the rules couldn't.

What YOU don't understand is that there are only two options here:

1) Every team is allowed to set up dummy teams in AA and do the same thing

2) No teams are allowed to set up dummy teams in AA and do the same thing

And the reason why the correct answer is No. 2 and not No. 1 is because No. 1 would completely destroy the financial system built into the game while rendering AA even more meaningless and pathetic than it already is.

Pretty simple answer right there. Don't know why you have such a hard time understanding it.

Dumbest thing I've read in a long time, if you think that NBA Jam got recruits because of being able to give EQ on dummy teams.

Lol actually after rereading it, I'm confident you are clueless on the topic.

I never claimed it was the only reason you were able to get recruits, but trying to insult me by claiming that piles of cash and the ability to afford equipment upgrades and respecs DON'T play into recruiting at all shows just how thin this whole charade is getting.

Keep pretending that you didn't know this was an exploit. Keep pretending that you didn't know that it was against the rules. Keep pretending that you were FORCED to do this because the deck has been stacked against you since you first got here. Keep arguing that that you needed to do this because the game forced you to swap equipment every season to keep up with the changing sim, or whatever nonsense Stern was babbling about in the GLB forum.

The more you guys talk, the more people understand how big the financial exploit was that you were using. And the more they realize that this needed to be fixed because it tilted the playing field to a ridiculous degree.

Keep talking. Please.

All I can do is laugh, we haven't had to recruit in at least 2 seasons.

But I mean keep up what you think is the case in imaginary land

Wow, not a single new player in two seasons. That's impressive.

And also a complete lie.
