no offense, but thats like saying, when it comes to arm strength, JP Losman has a top 5 arm...

but all that cannon got JP was a one way ticket to the UFL...

and all pure speed gets Berrian is a pat on the back and an atta boy...

speed is probably the most overrated attribute in a WR... deep threat or not.

all JP Losman's arm did him was a 62.3 QB rating in 2008 and a one way ticket out of town.

Berrians speed landed him one of the largest contracts in the NFL (after showing what he can do, not coming out of the draft) and a 20.1 YPC in 2008.

Your comparisons get worse and worse each time you put in your 2 cents.

so now a players ability is based on the size of their contract?

please....

Berrian has one skill.

running in a straight line very fast.

he got his one way ticket out of town and was lucky a team like the Vikes was stupid enough to overpay him.

the love affair over Bernard 'who the faulk cares' Berrian is staggering.

the dude is a scrub.

a fast scrub, but still...

a scrub.

exactly...

he had one of, if not THE strongest arm in the league...

but the rest of his game was garbage.

Berrian is really fast.

but the rest of his game is garbage.

I'm wondering why you're trying to argue with one of the dumbest people I've ever had the displeasure of reading.

it was a stretch, I know...

I try to get a good JP Losman reference in whenever possible.

and tbh, the size of a contract has zero to do with a players on field performance.

plz to be naming another non rookie that got paid anywhere near that salary based on what a team hoped they would do and not based off of what he had done.

Im not saying they give out contracts based on zero performance.

Im saying teams overpay for players all the time...

based on a hope the player will perform.

hoping for Berrian to be anything more than a middle of the road, average WR option is setting Vikesfan up for disappointment.

Berrian's just not that good.

He's had a 5 year career with the last 2 seasons being plagued some by injuries...still has continued to be better each season. Top that off with the fact that hes had QB's by the name of Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, Tarvaris Jackson, and Gus Frerotte throwing him the ball his entire career.

Also to mention that he finished last season as a top 25 WR statwise with half or nearly half the targets as the other 22 WR's ahead of him. I would say he's earning his $$$ with that stat.

he has definitely not had a decent QB tossing him the ball...

being able to do more than run in a straight line real fast, might help him get more targets than the one play (chuck it deep and hope he runs it down) he seems to have working for him...

I wonder if the Bears will miss this dynamite playmaker....
