I wouldn't mind him pushing it to season 12 to make sure. I can understand delays, but not cop outs.

How is it any worse then putting the 4th best OPL team in? or 5th? 6th? Think of it in terms of the poor teams. Would you really want to be forced into a league where you will get dominated, partially because Bort let your best teams transfer to other leagues the season before?

Er ya, ok...but still doesn't make sense to force teams to go up. This isn't like AAA to Pro where a team moving up knows they have a chance to compete. At least for one season there should be some choice given to those teams that are just to "young" to compete right now (The same teams may just end up being the best 2-3 seasons from now so in one season they will likely be ready to go)

You could always have a committee that picks the replacement team that comes up if you want to avoid the whole friends issue.

See, I was thinking a committee that consists of the current WL owners that have accepted entry. You might have some "homers" who pick just based on their own league affiliations, but there will be enough guys there that will pick who they believe is the most deserving.

I wasn't going to leave them with just anybody .

I oversaw the replacement process myself. I'll be assisting him as well.

No one ever liked islander anyways.

A committee of the current WL owners would be solid.

I still think, if a team declines their WL invitation/guts before going, the next team in line (highest tiebreaker ranked team) should get the invite. Only fair. WL doesn't seem to be designed to have the BEST 32 teams, at least not right away, it's to give all regions an equal shot at showing how good they are against the best of the best from across GLB.
