That was in response to the "count your blessings" rather than guarantee. There's no precedent for Bort bending the promotion rules.

wsdp- go barely make the playoffs in aaa and quit wasting our time on this forum. There are always exceptions and in this case, bringing over WSI was the right choice rather than dilute usapl even more after having 7 teams coming up (gotta be a record for usapl right?). These rules change every season and none are etched in stone. There is a precedent for bort changing the rules and sim and everything about GLB every season and making exceptions though. The hounds didn't earn anything by being a mediocre team in aaa. WSI did earn something by dominating opl for 4 seasons to the point where it is just pointless. Have fun barely making the playoffs again!

I'm pretty sure rules and the sim will change another million times before the end of season 10 as well. Nothing about glb is definite. With the way the game changes every day and how it's a work in progress, there should be exceptions and discretion. The decision was to add 8th (talent wise probably in the teens somewhere) aaa team to usapl that already brought up 7 teams, or to move a team that not only has been asking for a long time, but with that decision actually makes sense moving them. Whether or not there was protocol for it, bort made the right choice. He can just change the rules if he sees they need to be.
