Ok I tried reading this thread, got to page 5 and couldnt take it anymore.

So a couple questions that I hope can be answered without arguments.

1. I have a lvel 15 QB in BBB#8, he was level 4 when then the season started and has only played on my team. I expect him to be around lvl 22 next year through Juicing ahhh I mean Boosting and EXP, how will he be affected by these rules? Sounds liek he wont but just making sure.

2. Outlandish Senerio I know but just want to see what would happen, say I have a 2 deep team that should challenege for the 4th or 5th seed (Home Playoff Game) or higher. I notice a team I think is better than mine but not deeper than mine, plus I have more Money to waste. So I sign 10 Lvl 1 Players to LOWER the avergae level of the League so said Team cannot sign a lvl 15 player and instead has to settle for signing a lvl 13 player or no player at all if its his own player or a GMs player. Could Owners do things like this to stop a Owner from siging thier lvl 15 player when he becomes a FA after week 7? I think 10 lvl 1 players are cheaper than signing one lvl 15 player at min salary, could be wrong.

3. Example: Our Team the LA Looters went 0-5 to start, then 6-5, then 6-6 and then we signed a lvl 14 RT that completly Solidified our Offense, after that game we have gone 3-2 (2 losses, a 24-10 loss to #1 seed 16-0 team, a 19-17 loss to same team in first round of playoffs). We also beat the #2 seed 14-2, and #5 seed of the Eastern Conference 11-5 to make the playoffs. Will this no longer be an option to do? Becasue that one signing made us a Threat to every team and if we didnt get that our team would still playing catchup. Basically what I am asking is if as of week 13 the Lvl limit for BBB#8 was lvl 13. we could not have signed our RT?

I think #3 if that is how it would have went down SUCKS, we A) end up with a losing record instead of 9-7 and playoffs. B) have no fan support and would have lost money. C) would not have a great player and person on our team.

1. You're right, he won't be effected.

2. It's uncertain. In floating this idea Bort has also mentioned a couple things that could be done to prevent such tactics, such as removing the extreme upper and lower level players in a sample from the equation. That way those already around the average will be the ones determining what the average is.

3. That would be how that works, but unless the players in your league are significantly lower than that, then that is unlikely to be the scenario. It is players who are significantly higher than the average level of player in your league that will be unable to be signed. So, unless your leagues players were at the time mostly significantly lower level than 13, you probably would have been able to make the trade. It isn't intended to keep you from being able to improve or reach the level that other teams are at, it is intended to restrict you from suddenly becoming ridiculously better than those around you.

I as a player dont really like the idea of being penalized morale for wanting to stay with the team I play for now, and capping levels isn't a very good idea to begin with, maybe after this game has been going for a while you could institute a salary cap, but even the NFL took almost thirty years of development before they felt a salary cap would help create parity, this game is new and at this point both of these proposed rules will only make the game more complicated for no reason, I mean what do you do, boost before the playoffs, or do you wait because you dont want to have poor play via low morale, or do you trade a great player to a team in another league because his poor play isn't helping your team but you really like the person and they do everything they can to help you win boost when you tell them to, work on their build where you suggest them to i.e. adding points to a certain skill tree, building up a certain stat, or whatever sounds like a shitty predicament to be in if you ask me, when it all stems from an unnessessary (i totally spelled that wrong but i'm gonna roll with it) rule, i like that they float ideas like this around but this one needs to be shot down

Jared,

Under what Bort is proposing, you will have no penalty if you stay with the team you've joined. You could incure a penalty if they trade you to a different team during the year in a league that has mostly low levels in it, but if you choose to resign with your team, there is no penalty at all.

It had to take you a bit of thought and time to put up that post, as it wasn't a bad post, but wouldn't your time have been better spent actually reading what Bort had suggested instead of just catching a couple key words that someone else posted and forming a completely misguided impression?
